Title: It's JUST paperplates!
Post by: JakeGrimm on May 23, 2009, 10:05:42 PM
My mom and brother are driving me INSANE. Like, one second, it's all fine and dandy and i can smile and then something stupid will happen like today. I was stupid and forgot the chips and then mom got all pouty. And then my brother didn't set out any paper plates for her and she got all childish like "I'm not going to eat. F*** it. I don't need to eat." and then my brother told her to stop being childish and just eat. and they got into a lil argument and he brought out paperplates and she stormed out. then he went to go get the cigaretts out of the truck before she left but she nearly hit him with the truck....

We're finally at our new house. We were starting off fine. A fresh slate. No one talking about us like at the old house. Well, that just went down the drain. Soon teh terrorist rumors are gonna start again. *rolls eyes* Why can't people just stop being stupid?

Also, is her childishness like, a sign of early alzhiemers? she's only like, 40ish, but, why is she suddenly a child?

OH! and to top it all off, the other day, she told me over teh phone she was going to kill herself by driving the truck off the cliff. Who the hell tells they're youngest daughter that? And she got upset that I got pissed off because of that. I mean, out of NO WHERE she just throws that at me. As if I'm not having a hard time dealing with the hellish times we're going through. But I'M not being so immature about it. I'm still looking for jobs and such. I'm doing the foodstamps. I'm paying bills because my mom and dad don't know how to talk to eachother. I'm doing things I shouldn't have to do for my parents. *stomps feet* I'm supposed to be the childish one! *huffs* okay. actually, I'm supposed to be a 20year old adult. but, whatever. lol.

There are a couple things you should considier here:

1.  She chose to tell you that she was contemplating suicide.  Whether it was serious or not, I cannot say, but when a person makes a remark like that, it isn't just a casual remark.  They have considered it.

2.  Moving is extremely stressful.  Especially for the parent.  Moving has a lot of details to take care of.  Stuff like taking care of your bills at your old house and getting your lights and water and stuff turned on at the new.  All of that takes money, and money is one of teh biggest stressors we have today.  This stress points back to my first point.

3.  Apparently there is additional stress caused by your ethnicity.  It is a sad world that we are living in where people cant see past skin.

My observation is that teh paperplates werent even the issue.  The issue could be that your mother is overworked, and underappreciated.  She probably feels like she has to do everything, and something as small as setting out paper plates could have been done by anyone.  It doesnt take much to go out of control.  I know, it happenes to me.

1.I know. And that's what scares me. I've tried to make it easier on her but she gets upset and takes it wrong when I try and do things.
2.Yeah, but she's been making it harder than it should be. She's been searching for pity and stuff, so she'll work herself to death and then say 'poor me' type things because she didn't ask for help and wouldn't look to see what myself and my brother had done.
3.She doesn't like that I'm trans, no. (that's what you mean by ethnicity, right?). But I let her know I'm not going to do it for a very long time. I assured her of that.

There were glass plates out. Enough for everyone. I just dun see the need to get stressed out over the material the plates are made out of. And she's acting like she's never forgotten anything at the store. Like how I forgot chips. She's just.. getting way out of control over every little thing and making life miserable for everyone.

Your profile says that you're 20.  Sounds like it's time to move out.

Jake, I figured you were of Middle Eastern descent, you used the word "terrorist" and thats what my mind conjured up.  Maybe its me that cant see past skin.

Paperplates...  The reason I replied to this thread in the first place is that I absolutely hate paperplates.  Sure, they have their place, but not at my table.  I use an actual plate for each and every meal.  I have eaten off of paperplates for every meal in excess of a year.  Whenever I use them now, I am reminded of that year I spent in the desert.

Mister: God I want to. But no one will even glance in my direction let alone give me a job.

Feever: Oohhhhhhh. No, uhm. There was a misunderstanding a while back and my brother made threats to the cops for mistreating him... while standing on the roof of our motor home.... on the phone. The whole neigborhood heard it, and even after 5years, even the new people on the block were talking about it. *shakes head* We're actually white/Italian/several other things mutts. Lol.

Paperplates are useful, cause they dun need to be washed. But my brother hates em. I can understand both sides, really. They have they're pros and cons and overuse of them would make me want a glass plate too, lol.
