Wow, just wow. No. Double wow! At least they didn't need to change clothes for the honeymoon suite.

Holy S**t, Batman. Those are horrible, unless you're a hooker.

I'm totally surprised at Mariah Carrey. I thought she had more class than that. What she is wearing should be for the honey moon, not the Wedding. OMG get a gorgeous dress. With the money she has she could have looked like Cinderella.
The hot pants one could be a multi use, roller derby, swim suit...

Shameful... is there anything the conservative right wont do to push hetero marriage? ;) :D ;D ::)
Yes, I would go for the "hot pants" one. That is if I was 30 years younger.
Now I have to make a decision next year. My daughter is getting married and wants me to have a part in the ceremony. What to wear? What to wear?
Obviously a long dress, probably strapless. I am 6'3" and 180# fairly slim.
Any ideas? No, not the hot pants, but what?
Tekla, when did you go on the photoshoot to "South Beach?"
?? I don't understand the question, I've done photo shoots, but never South Beach.
South Beach is where I would expect to see such outfits.
They reminded me of a Kinky Salon if the theme was "here comes the bride." And one of the pic - the Latina girl - is not a wedding pic, but rather her arriving at her Quinceanera, the Mexican 'sweet 16/debutante' party held when the girl turns 15, and nothing says "Hey, I'm available" like an outfit like that.

Uh what does that have to do with pushing hetero marriage? I'm not hetero and I think a few of them look pretty sexy (mainly the hotpants one).
I also think calling all of them slutty as the author does, or 'shameful' is pretty judgmental. We strive so hard for others not judge us, what right do we have to tell someone else what they shouldnt wear on their wedding day?
It's called a sense of humour meets class.
Hey, it was the headline in the article from some invention site - don't worry, I'm sure they are all geeks and have yet to meet a real women (in 3D).
20 yrs on.
Mummy, Quinten and I are getting married. I like to have something borrowed from your wedding gown. BTW can I look at your wedding album?
Sorry honey the wedding gown was so unique it has disappeared and the hard drive went on the computer so we don't have the wedding pics.
BTW I heard from your father the other month, he's had a sex change and is a stripper in Vegas, thought he liked that kind of life.
It was meant to be funny, my funny gland is a bit down at the moment.
Thanks Tekla, loved them
Cindy
:o, just :o
=K
Wedding day is often called "her" day... so she should be allowed to wear what she wants and have as much fun with it as she wants.
The only problem I see is "how do you call that a gown?"
'specially with the bikini...
Why are all wedding dresses white? It represents purity?
Barbie~~
The first one has been debunked as an actual "wedding dress," since hers actually looked a bit more like this (http://justentertainment.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/mariah_carey_people_wedding2_may_8_2008.jpg). The photo is more plausible as a costume party outfit (which, according to a comment, dates back to 2001). It's okay Lori, Mariah does have better judgment than the article suggests. :)
The other four are disproven in the comments (with linkage) that they are from the year 2009. Not that the final four aren't peculiar in their own right, but the epidemic (at least according to available photographic evidence) is greatly overstated.
wow! :o

I forgot to post my edit, but I personally think it's great there are "bad" examples -- it gives a little more cover to anyone else that doesn't look so good on their wedding day or any other day. Embrace them.
Yikes! I don't consider myself conservative, but I couldn't see appearing as the bride at a wedding in any of those. However, I wish I could fit that one the way the booby bride does ;).
If those women want to wear those outfits, whether for a wedding or not, more power to them. However,
I wouldn't wear any of those for my wedding. Not my thing personally, though I would totally wear some of those for the AFTER party! ;)

Yes, here in the USA, white means purity.
Kind of cool!
Well, some pretty lucky grooms I guess.
