Two transgender advocates will be part of an on-air apology Thursday by a Sacramento radio team that has upset lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender advocates.
Transgender advocates Kim Pearson and Autumn Sandeen will appear on KRXQ's "Rob, Arnie & Dawn" show Thursday morning to "further educate the hosts," according to a news release from the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. The trio's morning show is off the air because of remarks made during a broadcast but will return at 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
I still don't want to draw too many corollaries between the black power movement and the gay trans movement.
These guys are getting quite a ratings bump as a result, and will probably take top spot in their ratings slot for the week.
But they got hit HARD where it hurts. It got their attention. The Montgomery Bus boycott in the 1950's almost bankrupted the Montgomery transit company until they suspended their segregation policies (whites rode in front, blacks in back).
It didn't stop segregation, but it made people take notice that people deserved to be treated equally and could vote with their pocket book.
Money does not discriminate, it has no care whatsoever if the person spending it has a penis or a vagina or what they are wearing or what color/race/creed/religion they are.
It doesn't stop people from having bigoted thoughts, just make them realize that there is a smaller number of people willing to pay to support those thoughts than there are people in general.
This is the lesson WE need to learn.

Very well put Sandy. Money makes the world go round or can make it stop.
