Maybe some of you can shed some light on this, because I'm a little baffled and would like to try doing what I did to replicate my success.
Anyways, I was a little bit overweight and growing concerned because I kept eating bad or semi-bad food at the college cafe here...they really don't serve anything good...and I gained about ten pounds. Once the spring semester was over and I went "home," I was eating- well, not good food necessarily, but maybe not as much. I also started donating plasma again. Every time I went in, they took my weight because they have to take out plasma depending on what you weigh. I found out, right around the first week of June, that I had lost ten pounds in a month without exercising and basically just sitting on my butt doing nothing.
I'd love to know how I pulled that one off.
You most likely reduced your caloric intact enough to lose weight.

I wonder though....it's not like I stopped eating or avoided anything particularly gross...I think one day I must have eaten 4 burgers that were grilled in the backyard. :P
Mich is right, basically you lose weight by burning more calories than you take in. Even a little difference can add up over time if it's consistent. I know Weight Watchers says that losing more than 2 or 3 lbs. per week can cause certain problems, but 10 lbs in a month, especially if it's the first you've lost in a while, sounds okay.
