Title: How long before your nipples completely healed (if you had DI)?
Post by: Nero on June 22, 2009, 10:36:26 PM
My right nipple healed a lot faster than my left. The left is still healing. It's been a month. This normal?

yea, you're good.  mine took a while.  I had surgery in december and they were healed but still a bit scabby for a good bit more than a month.

My nipples are still doing weird things and I'm 6 months out.  Lots of color changes, etc.  And this past weekend I found a teeny tiny suture poking out.  No idea how I'm going to remove it it's so small and my bifocals won't let me look at it too closely.

But I'd say your changes are probably normal.

totally normal.  my approximate healing timeline went something like this

1 month out i felt like a human again.  i could be out and about all day, my chest wasn't sore anymore, except for a 1" square area where the incisions nearly meet in the center of my chest

3-4 months out, all numbness went away

1 year out, my chest felt totally normal.  all tissue had adhered, all scars softened and faded out.

My nipples aren't healed probably yet they are still brown/pink coloured. I have more feeling now than I did when I first had surgery. The nipples are sore though.. like really painful. I guess this is just normal. The bottom side of my left part of my chest is numb I keep trying to poke it to see how much I can feel and as of yet still no feeling.
