I don't figure this is a major thing for everyone else and it's a big thing for me - I went to my first endo appointment on Friday and I got my scrpts! I was SO afraid my diabetes would keep me from them! So, Spiro and Estradiol started on Saturday and yes, I waited until AFTER breakfast to go to the pharmacy!
I can't wait for 'em to kick in!

Congrats Helen. One step down :)

For you, for us, it is indeed a major thing; we are your family away from home, remember? :) ;) I'm happy for you Helen! happy that you have finally started your metamorphosis. I wish you the very best of luck! and I am happy knowing that you are thrilled about this; it certainly brings memories and a few tears but lots of joy at the same time...
Keep us posted! and Congratulations!

At a recent TG club meeting, one of the girls said, ala [____] Anonymous, "Hi, I'm Carol, and I'm hopelessly addicted to Estrogen..." We had a real good crack-up over that! ;D ;D ;D
You'll get to like the stuff -- REALLY like it.
Congratulations! You're off and running!
Karen
It is a big announcment. Other big announcements include coming out to important people, going fulltime, scheduling surgery, having surgery or anything else you feel is a major milestone in your transition.
Melissa

This is a huge step for you Helen, and a date to remember. I know I remember the date that I started, and I would imagine that others here remember their date. While starting HRT is only one part of transition it's a huge part to be sure. Just the emotional issues you will no doubt experience, will be lets say, different (although there is not clinical evidence that HRT effects TS patients, so they say) :)
So enjoy the ride, it would be nice to say that it's going to be smooth sailing but I think you know that is a dream that we all have. Just remember to take care of you.
Steph
Thank you! You're all so sweet!
I woke this morning to a feeling that I haven't had for as long as I can remember - a certain pressure was missing - a calm .. .. .. very hard to explain but maybe you can relate.
I remembered reading about this from others and was wondering when it might start, if it even would. WOW!
I can't wait to see what happens next ???

Yeah, as soon as I had the medicine in hand, it was a huge relief. I remember thinking that if I had won the lottery, I couldn't have been happier at that time. :D Wish I could've anyways though. :P
Melissa
Congratulations Helen!

Wonderful news Helen!
As a person with Diabetes, it's good to hear that it isn't necessarily a roadblock. I'm down that road from a decision for HRT, one way or the other, but it's great to see you running the roadblock. Hmmm .... maybe too many Smokey and the Bandit style analogies here. Anyway, congratulations!
