I started writing out a new topic and as I got further down the page the scroll bar would randomly jump a few lines up, and it would jump up 3-4 lines and back down everytime I typed a letter. It isn't preventing me from making, or posting the topic, but it is a real nuisance, anyone dealt with this or know how to make it stop?
Could be your system, I get that sometimes because my system is doing something in the background. But no one tell Cami, because I think it is mt OS which is vista.
Janet
My computer does this all the time. It isn't Susan's place its my system. Seems to be more common in DELLs. LOve to hear other comments.
Cindy
Janet and Cindy are both right. I have Dell and Vista and the problem is common. DAMN Bill Gates!
I don't have dell or vista, I have IBM and XP
I've just taken to making word documents to write my posts in and copy paste, seems to work fine so far.
I also had the same problem in both PCs at home and office, but suddenly the problem disappeared.

Funny, me too - in fact, almost all my computer problems ended when I moved from PC to Apple. It was weird.

That will often do the trick. :) Amazing how some of those PC problems just disappear with the loss of the PC. :)
Why it almost seems like PC problems are limited to PCs. But to Windows in particular.

Possibly because Windows is working very hard to not only do what you wish it to do, but also to do what Microsoft wishes it to do with mining intelligence about your web habits, Word usage, etc, etc, etc and sending it back to Seattle.
I got an award from them last week for using 'farking' and 'frickign' so much.

Maybe I should check to see if the mod-staff here doesn't have something planned along those lines for you as well, Kat.
Hey, along with "Freaking" they are acceptable substitutes for the F word on network TV. Yeesh.

I was serious, darling! When you use such euphemistic spelling we don't have to edit!! Gifts to all who self-moderate!! You're just the chieftest!!
*Knocks on wood* Which is easy considering the computer desk is made out of wood.
The current machine I'm logged in on runs Vista on a Dell computer. No problems on my end.
Now my Acer laptop that runs XP is a different story. That dang, nods at Nichole, "touch-pad mouse." Always interferes with my typing, which is bad enough as it is.
My desk computer runs the same version of Windows and word and performs fine. My lap top version of word jumps around like a kangaroo on ice. Particularly as it warms up.
