:) Hello :)
I have been on HRT for about 3months now, but I'm not supervised by any doctor, so I purchased Saliva DIY Hormone test Kit to see if I'm not overtaking hormons.
I got results back today, my T was within Female range :) , but E2 Estradiol was pretty low :( even though I'm taking normal dosage of Estrogen.
I'm little bit confused about it.
Can anybody me about Saliva Hormone Test?? Your experience, opinion and stff.
Thank you :)
Anna :)
I have never heard of such a test. Im not trying to preach but you should really see a doctor and get proper test done it's been a while since Ive been on the site, but I'm sure youll find somewhere here that will give you the information about the RISK of taking HRT. And I did say risk, and that occures even under a Doctors care....
Saliva Hormone Test is you collect your saliva into small tubes. There are couple different products for hormone tests in the market. I think not available(not allowed) in NY and CA by the law.
I know the risks, I wrote about it once somewhere in HRT forum that doctor here don't wanna treat me due to my existing health condition. That's why I'm on DIY HRT. (Not because I'm too lazy to go see a Dr. or don't have an insurance, etc..)
Anyways thanks for replying to my message :)

I've seen these tests too, but have never tried them.
I'm not sure where you are located, but I think you may find that you can get a clinic to do a proper hormone test for you, without the risk of them stopping you taking your meds. As they are only testing, they are only liable to report what they find and advise, so they should have no problem with giving you the results.
Prices should not be wildly different to the test you have done.
...If you really must take the risk, please take care, I'm sure there is a good reason for your doctors warning.

Hi.... As there is nothing to go on you make it very hard to answer .
i can give you some idears . .. with out any info ..
What i can say is . first you should have had a blood test . there are about 14 . done . through your endo .that gives you a base count so you know were you are at all times . every 3 months for the first part then 6 months then a year then every 2 years after that . the amount you are takeing will be a concern . as well . having your mouth saiaiva wont tell you as much ..you said your hormons are with in a females range .. in three months . what is that .
Male nmol is for a male about 33 , nmol as age comes on it does go down .a bit . on h r t .... a females is i .25 or close to . its not the same for every one & this is just a guide line
Over 2 to 3 years depending on the amount . i did mine every aug since starting & will do every year . so i have a good idear . of whats going on . i moniter my self all the time .
Mine now is 0,9 to1.8 nmol thats the female range now remember thats a blood test . & the other 14 odd tests should be done as well . & they are more important .liver ..kidnys ..cholesterol.
so i would not play around . it sounds good . yet later on in life you may pay deally so please do it right .. with a endo
