Title: Surgery with Dr Brassard
Post by: Kristyn on July 04, 2009, 10:02:55 PM
Hi, I'm new here and seeking the experiences from those who have had grs with Dr. Brassard in Montreal.  The reason?  I'm 10 yrs pre-op living/working full time and am now seeing surgery as a reality as it it covered by our Provincial health care in Ontario, Canada.  I'm seeking honest results, so please, do not hesitate to post.

Hoping to hear from all

~Kristyn~

One of the problems of comparison shopping for SRS surgeons is that most people have only been to one.

Going to Dr. Brassard was absolutely wonderful.
The man is a wonderful surgeon and an all around nice guy.
I think that the integration between hospital and convalescent home is better than anywhere else.

(Have you seen the promotional video DVD from Dr. Brassard yet? Send for it.)

I went to dr. brassard as well.  Definitely loved the nursing staff, well all the staff at the recovery house.  They felt like family instantly and I still get all emotional when  I think of them.  I cant speak for anyone else as like renate said, you have probably only been to one.  Results wise Im satisfied so far despite having a ways to go healing wise.

If you go there tell them Audrey sent you, lol!!

Good luck

I did not go to Dr B although he had been my top choice since '98 (barely nudging out Meltzer on my list). However, I have known a number of folks who have through the years and I can honestly say not a single one had a complaint about him, the place, the surgery, and the results going down the road.

Good luck! :)

Hi, thanks for all the replies.  I'm definitely going with Brassard, but I just wish this whole procedure could move along at a faster clip.  Could you elaborate on your healing process, if you don't mind?

Thanks

Besides me, I have three other friends who went to Brassard . We all agree he is very good at what he does. What surprised me the most was I was in no pain when I came out of recovery. And eight hours later I still was in no pain. I guess that's not typical though, as the nurses were pretty surprised.

And as a person, Brassard is a gem. He's very caring and compassionate, not something you see in a lot of doctors today. If I had to do it all over again I'd choose him again. And I think I can say the same for my friends too.

These descriptions are 'music to my ears'! Glad to see so many good replies. My referral is in Montreal and is being 'processed'. Just waiting for my date. I think getting BC's ok as per funding is making my wait longer. I am not quite sure why as I have met all the criteria. I jump overtime my phone pings as the staff in Montreal said they would email me once all info is in. Having a hard time waiting!!!
