VENTURA -- A 15-year-old boy charged with the murder of a gay student in an Oxnard classroom has been offered a plea deal, according to prosecutors.
Brandon McInerney has been offered a lighter sentence by the Ventura County district attorney's office in exchange for a guilty plea.
McInerney is accused of fatally shooting 15-year-old classmate Larry King in February 2008. King dressed in a feminine manner and told friends he was gay.
Prosecutors made their offer public after a court hearing Wednesday.
