I've been watching a show on NBC that I haven't heard too much buzz about. The Listener is about a paramedic who can read people's thoughts and uses it to help others. Think "Heroes" without the giant cast and a little more believable (if mind-reading can be believable).
It also doesn't hurt that the lead is easy on the eyes, but that's neither here nor there.

It is nice to actually see a transperson portrayed by an actor that matches their gender (i.e. a male actor playing an ftm)
Yet, all the MtFs complain when its typical to cast a Felicity Huffman as an MtF.

Well, not all of us, but there is a lot of complaint. Yes.
Of course,
everyone knows that MTFs are way more sensitive to nuance of "what should be" done. :) Perhaps a holdover from often "getting what we want" as a function of growing up perceived and conditioned as "male?"
Is the sarcasm dripping? Should I wipe it yet?
Actually, my first thought when I read:

was, Danial Craig, or Paul Rubens?
It's just that all the of the ftm characters I've seen on TV usually get played by women, even long into their transition. An FTM actor would be great, but in lieu of that, I think a male actor is the better choice.
