The Crying Game-This film is complex and hard core gritty. It shows not a gay person, but a trans-gender one. The light it shines is on two subjects. How a straight man feels about a trans-gender he thought was a woman and how he transcends that feeling. How he ends up feeling, which is the point after all,. There is so much more to this story. However, I don't believe that it shows the trans-gender person here in a bad light. It is a complex situation. This film won an Oscar for best screenplay. It also was nominated and won many other awards world wide. A bit of trivia; Jim Broadbent was an actor with a small part in this film. His new film opened today, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", he plays "Professor Slughorn".
