THE courts have agreed to hear the case of a Bahraini woman undergoing a sex change operation, in a bid to legally recognise her
new status as a man. Lawyer Fawzia Mohammed Janahi, who is acting for the 30-year-old, says her client was born without all the female organs and in medical terms she is deemed male.
He is currently in Thailand undergoing full genderre assignment to Male

I hope this case goes through. It'd be a step forward for a heretofore less than friendly part of the world.
That was an irritating article to read. It's actually FtM transition, although he could be intersex from the article. Nonetheless, even his own lawyer uses "she" to refer to him.

Hey Dennis,
Yeah ... I agree, but the use of the wrong pronouns is quite common within the press in general.
I have been in the Middle East 3 years now and it is encouraging to see these types of stories being reported, in what is considered to be a repressed area for human rights. As we have seen in Europe, one determined individual can change the policies of governments by following the legal system to it's conclusion. Any victory for TS in the court is a bonus and in this case a major victory for human rights.
It is not quite at the stage where I would consider a career change to a Human Rights Lawyer in Saudia Arabia though.
