Title: Realistic Female Voice?
Post by: Smexy_Chandra on July 28, 2009, 04:12:10 PM
I'm trying to do a female voice, but every time I make an attempt it either sounds too squeeky, too cheesy or too male like when played back to me. I am wondering if anyone has any tips that could help me with the feminization of my voice so that I can pass easier in public.

Hi Smexy,

Keep doing the squeeky for a while..

Then try relaxing and let the tone drop a little till you are comfortable...

..it's only a start, but it worked for me...

TS Roadmap has an excellant DVD and CD program (http://www.tsroadmap.com/physical/voice/index.html). It will cost you money.

There is also this girl on Youtube who has helpful voice videos for free (http://www.youtube.com/user/candiFLA)

Chandra,

One of the best on-line.  Kathy Perez (http://www.youtube.com/user/tgvoice)

And Deep Stealth (http://www.genderlife.com/shop/transsexual-voice-feminization-video/ts-voice.htm).  Used their product and developed a really good voice.

One of the most helpful things for me was seeing the movie "Better Than Cocolate" with the trans character Judy. I noticed that when she spoke more naturally she sounded fine, but when she tried to go all breathy she sounded retarded. I remembered that lesson not to overdo it.

Two things helped me change my voice. One was singing. I found it helped me stretch my vocal range and to learn how women use their voices. The second thing was realizing that it is more what and how i speak that matters, more than the pitch. To me, there was a whole other language to learn called Girlspeak. Listen carefully when you're with your girlfriends...women use different words with different inflections than men do.

I hope some of what I wrote here will be helpful to you.
