Yes, so, I finally (FINALLY! :D) got off my arse and out of my happy little comfort bubble and went to see a counsellor yesterday about my "little gender problem" (love my Mum :laugh:). This lady (who reminds me very much of a favourite high school teacher, strangely enough) isn't a trans-specific counsellor, but she works for an LGBT counselling place, and has had about twenty years' experience in the area, and was amazingly lovely about it all. As I'm sure all you guys have found, it's just *so* nice talking to someone understanding and getting it all off your chest and having them know where you're coming from and able to suggest other people to go to for further help. It's kind of scary, and yet so wonderful that it's finally out there, and it really does feel so much better to be actually doing something about it at last. It's a relatively small step, but one I'm so glad I've finally taken. ;D

Congratulations. I know exactly how it feels to get all of it off your chest. Sometimes it makes everything more real and more painful, but at the same time, it is such a wonderful relief. I felt even better meeting up with other trans guys. It was amazing being around people who had been there, and could see me as male despite my current physical state. I highly recommend connecting to other guys who've been through this "whole thing".
One small step can mean a lot. After all, it's the first step of a journey.
Congratulations William! :D I felt that way too when I first saw my psychologist. Even though he doesn't understand 100% (because I don't think anyone could understand 100% unless they too were transgender) he's been the most knowledgeable and understanding person yet. It was nice to talk to someone who wasn't judgemental and knew where to start.
Congrats, Your lucky. Id give anything to see a gender therapist. Believe it or not though, I have heard of a gender therapist that was transphobic..what the hell is the point? In any case, its good that you have someone you can always share with

Thats awesome. It is very nice to tell someone so they can tell you where to start. I have been seeing a reguler counselor who i finally came clean to. She was very helpful and told me where to start.
But congrats again dude on taking one step forward.
