Hello everyone! My name is Nova. I am currently 18, and while I have not transitioned yet (due to financial, familial and psychological problems), I'm planning on it in the near future.
I can't honestly say I've always thought that I wanted to be a girl; it really started to express itself when I was about 10-12, but I didn't really comprehend that I really wanted to be female. I finally realized what was going on when I started reading the comic Venus Envy, which is about a young transexual girl and her misadventures in high school. When I told my parents about it, they were...less than enthusiastic. By that, they thought that the devil was trying to trick me and this "spirit of homosexuality" was wrong and that I should trust Jesus. Since then it's buried itself in my subconscious, but lately my desire to be female has finally managed to come out in full force, and I'm working on finally satiating it.
Sorry if the intro seems really disjointed or badly written, I just really have no idea on how to talk about this kind of stuff. I"ve never been the best with words =P. Well, anyway, it's nice meeting you guys. I'm gonna go listen to The Polyphonic Spree.
Hi Nova, :icon_wave:
Welcome to our little family. Over 2900 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.
Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams. Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.
But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. :icon_hug:

Welcome to Susan's, Nova.
Your story is similar to many of us here. This is a good place to help you explore who and what you really are. Have a look around.
Speaking as someone who is much older than you: Be patient about transitioning. It takes a while, step by step, and there's no hurry. You want to be sure it is what's right for you.
Welcome. :D
