Help guys, i hadn't sent an update pic to my surgeon for five months and he said my scar is thickening and i should put silicone tape on it or get cortizone injections. he gave me a link to biodermis.com but i don't know what he means by tape, and i don't want to sound like an idiot.
Possible this link. http://www.biodermis.com/scar_products/epi-derm (http://www.biodermis.com/scar_products/epi-derm)

I think Janet is probably right. I don't have any experience myself (being pre-op) but I've heard a few guys I've met talking about silicone strips that they cover the scars with. Apparently they're slightly tacky and can be washed - which is fortunate because they are also rather expensive, from what I hear.
My doctor also mentioned this. Is this the right stuff (the link Janet put up)? I have looked at a few places locally and not been able to find it. I know someone mentioned getting a sheet and cutting strips off of it.
Anyway JT did you ever find it?
Thanks Myles
i've looked everywhere around town... so it looks like online is the way to go. the price is expensive, and i'm not sure if that's really what i need to be doing.
so no man, haven't picked anything up yet.
I got to ask... what is it supposed to "do"?
help with scarring.
Myles
My primary doctor told me to get some of those once for some really bad scars on my arms. They are in fact the same thing that Janet linked. Although, the once I got were much smaller. I picked up a box from Walmart for about 7 bucks. They do help reduce the appearance of scars as well as make smoother. The ones on my arms were from broken glass and the stuck up quite a bit. Now they are pretty even with the rest of my skin.
I would keep them on for 12 hours then take them off and use coco butter on the scars. let that soak in for a few hours then re apply the Silicon Tape.
are you rubbing the scars?
