As a historian, back when all this internet stuff was starting, we wondered how much of history would ever be true in the future when everything could be changed, and nothing could be checked. But let me quote from Bob Dylan's liner notes to the 1992 release of World Gone Wrong.
... what's essentially true is virtual reality. technology to wipe out the truth is now available. not everybody can afford it but it's available. when the cost comes down look out!
I don't believe those photo-editors have ever heard of "the uncanny valley."
. . .That final shot, even when removing the context of having seen its editing, looks completely unnatural.
That it looks 'unnatural' does not preclude it from being a standard.
I read an article by the young woman who plays the baddie in GI JOE (not a movie I'll be seeing BTW). I forget her name. She expressed some disbelief that her image could be photoshopped in every frame. my boobs are not that big and my bum is bigger was the gist of the comments - not a real quote BTW.
Sad because it makes susceptible people to expect the impossible. Then again try anti-ageing cream at $100 plus per tiny tube for a few gms of sorbelene.
But Paris uses it. Go figure.

What nonsense, but that's how the magazines do it with all the touching up that goes on. But what does this have to do with transsexuals or transition?
