I know that a good voice trainer is indispensable, but until that becomes available to me, I'm looking for anything, anything else at all, that would be useful in trying to train my voice down. Singing, booming, practice, etc etc etc... all very well and good, but they just don't satisfy on their own.
More specifically, I'm looking for a program or tool of some sort that I can use to measure the hz of my voice. I'd love to have some sort of marker to track whatever progress (or lack thereof) I might make, and something quantifiable like hz seems best.
I'm going to be starting therapy this fall at a local University Hospital. Other options... do a quick google on it and you'll find some decent info. Here are a few links I noticed seemed reasonable:

Calpernia Adams site has a course for feminizing the voice and there is a spectrum analyzer that is free to download. It might be something you can use.

As well... some therapists have you use a small electronic tuner, they can be purchased for around $25-35. They were created for instrumentalists to tune their gear. If you know a guitar player, she/he may have an extra you could try out. The exceptional voice link I put in has a lot these gizmo's and the how/what/etc of all that ( and what pitches to aim for etc ).
I have used the Spectrogram from Calpernia Adams. And it works excellently.
