pride, and trans exclusion in the Church

So I went to the Montreal Pride Parade with my gf and one of my roommates last Sunday. It wasn't nearly as loud (or seemingly as corporate, though I left early, so I could be wrong on that) as Chicago Pride, which I went to with that same roommate earlier in the summer.

I also went to my (Anglican) church with my gf. We actually went there together for a long time before I asked her out – that's one of the ways I got to know her better. The priest who was celebrating the service that Sunday wore a rainbow stole. This did not surprise me, since this church is well-known for being an LGBT-friendly church, and a rainbow flag hangs in the back of the church.
