hey everyone. :)
im on the "standard dose" of T shots and my doctor has put me on T cream (along with the shots). she told me to watch out for signs that my T was too high, but i want to make sure i catch them.
right now all i can think of is anger. :/
anger is only a side effect if yoru T dose is hundreds of times too high.
as for physical signs, there is typically nothing you can detect without a blood test. not sure what your doctor wants you to watch for.

maybe she doesnt know either. lol im the first person shes doing this with. i want to try too of course, im not just letting her do little experiments on me.
Are your T levels low so she's put you on injection and cream? I find it concerning if she doesn't know "high T level signs" but wants you to.
High blood pressure is all that comes to mind, and that doesn't happen in everyone, just some seem to be sensitive to the effects of T and get increased bp. My T was off the charts post-hysto and my blood pressure was fine. Oh, but I was hornier than a many-peckered billy goat most of the time. Maybe that's what she means.

My second T level was 1200, and the doc said that was too high, and lowered my dose. Last check it was 700. I haven't noticed any difference either before it got high, or after. Other than having a higher cholesterol, and the standard wanted side effects, haven't had any effects.
I'm getting it checked again next month so we'll see where I'm at.

no, im on cream to rub on m junk so that more converts to DHT. were doing a little experiment.

You say that like its a bad thing.

Yeah, at your age I wouldn't worry about it.
If you turn green, grow muscles, and get taller, it's too high.
Given that T has a tendency to estrify when the levels get too high, I would say also be on the look out for signs of feminization. I suspect the most likely signs would be spotting and PMS-like moodiness. (You've not had hysto, as I recall, right?)

Heh heh. And don't forget about your eyes turning silver, and your hair getting all shaggy. ;)
Hmm, now I have a question.
Do they check up on your testosterone levels all the time? Like do they expect you to check in for appointments?
Well, I was originally asked to come in after 2 months to check levels, and since they are normal (albeit verging on a little high) I'm supposed to check in again in 4 months. I don't know how often my doc will want to check them after that, though.
due to shot anxiety, i havnt been on a stable dose since i started, so it hasnt really been possible to check my levels (and have them be acurate).
i want to be on time with my shots for 4 weeks before checking my levels.
i was supposed to have them checked at 3 months. :/ if i do my shot before bed, i'll be on time for the 3rd week in a row, then if i do my 4th shot, i'll go in to have my levels checked. i suspect they'll be high because of the cream thrown in.

Yes. The typical blood work schedule goes something like this: Pre-T, 3 mo, 6 mo & every six months after that, unless there's some type of issue.
Feminization? There isn't any potential for breast/hip growth, so I'd say water retention and weight gain. Just a guess here. The danger with high T is aromatization, the body won't allow enough to cause problems to be circulating at once.

No, it means testosterone starts converting into estrogen!
thats called estrifying...

Oh hell no, was rather entertaining, if a bit distracting in court...
Oh, and T converting to estrogen is also called aromatization. I've not heard estrifying before, but aromatization is a term applied to any chemical reaction where hydrocarbons are converted (either aromatic to non-aromatic or the other way around, I forget). The enzyme involved is aromatase.
Couldn't find estrify as a word on google.

I may very well have made that word up. I do that sometimes, in the tradition of Shakespeare, Marlow, Johnson, Joyce ... ;D
But if it isn't a word, it
should be. ;)

I was just about to say the same! :D
That word doesn't really exist, it was made in here.
"Aromatase is an enzyme that is responsible for a key step in the biosynthesis of estrogens"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aromatase (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aromatase)
They generally convert testosterone into estrogens.
Anger was my biggest sign.. and coming on my period too... as too much of the good stuff gets turned back into the bad stuff I was informed :-( Also it doesn't bring on the effects any quicker..

"Bouncebackability" is in the Oxford dictionary. Enough said.
