Title: effects of stopping/starting estrogen
Post by: yabby on August 24, 2009, 01:01:34 PM

in other threads people tell me it is possible to be on HRT for sometime before being outed. so i have an number of questions:

I know everyone is different but i would be useful to have different people experience and an average:
1) after how many months do the changes become noticeable and impossible to hide?
2) after how much time does the face look more feminine.
3) if i need to stop the HRT treatment what would be the effects on me? would i get crazy?

1) For me, six months things became pretty noticeable, and probably impossible to hide.
2) I took pictures from the beginning, and I would say that after a couple months my face started to soften a little.  Around three months one of my friends told me I was starting to look androgynous.
3) I had to stop hormones for about 2 weeks for FFS (1 week prior, and 4 days after).  For me, I didn't get "Crazy", but I could definitely tell they weren't there towards the end of the time I was off.  When I started the hormones back up, I was extra moody for about a month.

Hope that helps.  Your results will vary of course, but these were my experiences.

I ordered hormone patches, so let me see how fast/slow i will see the effects.  For the moment i am more concerned about being at peace and the mental effects.

Patches were having a roller coaster effect on my hormone levels, since there was not assurance that one of the patches would or would not detach during the few days I applied it, so I switched to injections, and researched the right dose to get stability for maybe 3 months with regular checks and reevaluation of dosage... and now, It's OK for me.

I'm just wondering how to minimize the time without estradiol injection when I receive my FFS, next year. I'm going to discuss this with Dr Ousterhout when I go for the preliminary consulation, later this month.

when I quit this summer to "give maleness another try,(wtf was i thinking?), I wound up having major night sweats and some hot flashes. If you quit, do it gradually. Waking up completely covered in sweat, not cool.

3 months now on HRT

The breasts and nipples if I push my chest in front you can definitely see a pointy nipple and a small hump, we cannot call it a breast yet but the nipples are really perky.

2) after how much time does the face look more feminine.

Fats have accumulated in the cheek area, facial hair growing at a lesser rate and all acne and pimple vanished in the thin air and my skin in back like I was in my early teens.

3) if i need to stop the HRT treatment what would be the effects on me? would i get crazy?

Due to financial reasons at times I ran out of hormones, well I notice I become horny again and wanna masturbate when generally on HRT all sex drvie is dead for me.
