According to PoliceTees.com, which sells a version of the sticker for various different states, these decals represent "the courage found deep inside when faced with insurmountable odds. It is displayed in honor of those injured or killed in the line of duty." Nothing controversial about that, right?
Well leave it to Maine's head anti-gay, Mike Heath, to let his insatiable desire to unearth LGBT unsavoriness get in the way of doing a simple Google search. What I missed was an apology for creating this controversy and misrepresenting the meaning behind the sticker. Why admit you're wrong when you're doing the lord's work, I guess?
