Title: Help! Applying for a job and asked for gender
Post by: Calistine on August 28, 2009, 03:31:30 PM
My sex is female, so if they asked that i would put it. But it asked for my gender. What should I put?

Depending on the state, it may be illegal to even ask that.

haha it took me a minute to realize it. I identify as male but I didn't want a conflict so I just put down nothing

it's tricky.  I ran into some of that.  On the app itself, you usually have to list the gender that's on your identity documents, but if this an EEO questionnaire or something, there's usually a "decline to state" or just leave it blank.  Or put male.
