So, since before I started my HRT and RLE, I used the Gender Genie to check the gender of my posts (mostly for fun). Before I started HRT and RLE, it would always come back as 'male'. Now however, I only get 'female', and have not gotten 'male' in quite a while (months).
I find this quite intriguing because I have made no discernible effort to change the way I talk or type. I don't even feel as if the way I talk has changed, however I know it has! As a fun experiment, I went through some emails I wrote about a year ago. When I read them, I was surprised at the way I talked. I couldn't even imagine talking that way. It was pretty weird, but really fun. You should try it!
I don't know how accurate the Gender Genie is, but it sure is reassuring to see 'female' come back every time!
I wonder if anyone else has had this sort of experience?

Do you think that perhaps it's your age too? I know that I write quite a bit differently than I used to a few years ago. Just growing older in general has been more noticeable to me. What I think is relevant, or what I believe to be childish, has changed considerably, as well as how free I am with the things I'll talk about.
I just ran some of my livejournal through this. 6944 / 4467
Female Score: 945
Male Score: 848
Female Score: 644
Male Score: 649
Female Score: 729
Male Score: 405
Female Score: 1962
Male Score: 969
Female Score: 1419
Male Score: 712
Female Score: 1245
Male Score: 884
The one that flagged as male was a more dry and factual entry comparing different hair removal services.
Ooooh... That's a cool little toy!
It pegs me as male on everything I've run through it so far.
Hey, that is interesting !
I tossed in some emails, they all came back female ( around 60/40 ) !
Cool link, thanks !

It claims to be 70% accurate.
It's a neat thing to play with.
I threw in a business email, medical stuff, and it came back
Female Score: 594
Male Score: 204
Geez am I ever girly! LOL!
I was actually really nervous about running some of my text through the Gender Genie, but even when I'm being abrasive, my posts come back as feminine. I don't know why, but that's such a great feeling! :D
Since most of what I write comes out sounding like the bastard child of William Safire and Maureen Dowd, I usually end up with ambiguous results from the Gender Genie.
But I know that my manner of speech is changing in response to social pressures I experience living as a woman. I don't mean sexism, just the gendered nature of society.

wow! I decided to try Gender Genie and ran several text docs from b4 and after. Most of the ones from before pegged me as male. Then I put in one from not long ago where i had really flamed about something in a message to a poster on youtube. I really came unglued in it too... btw, I actually never sent it off but I really put every bit of my feelings about the matter in it as strongly as possible at the time. I really wanted them to KNOW exactly how and why I was upset with them. Here is what Gender Genie said:
Female Score: 907
Male Score: 721
The Gender Genie thinks the author of this passage is: female!
I feel a lil bit better now ;D
