Cops have seen all manner of crooks in disguises: ski masks, sunglasses, wigs, construction vests, you name it.
But San Jose police are marveling at the audacity of a repeat robber who chose to wear a muumuu -- a loose, flowing dress of Hawaiian origin that hangs from the shoulder -- in two holdups.
Visualizing this person running away from the scene in a mumu plants a smile directly on my face!

If robbing the store wasn't bad enough a muumuu is a Fashion Felony all in itself.
anyone else picture homer simpson?
muumuu is a major fashion fopaw. Only silver-hair older woman with no fashion sence wear them. Or the criminally insane. >:-)

Police don't have a good description of the robber's features, possibly because witnesses have been so focused on his outfit -- a pink, long-sleeved gown with a white and purple floral pattern, along with a tan straw garden hat, white gloves and tan shoes.
I see the clever plan is working.
personally, I wouldn't wear tan shoes and hat w pink gown, perhaps something less drab... :D
