so there i was the other day facing another round in the seemingly eternal series of questions about. are you gay? are you really transexual? are you this? are you that? and even a, well you don't seem to be like all those other ****** are you really sure? so when the next question came to me about are you ________ ? i told them that actually my name is jayme lynne and i have never been called by the name gay or by any of the other labels you want to try and apply to me as a name. so if that's a problem then congratulations i guess you have a problem.
godsss that felt refreshing. I honestly don't know what triggered the remark other then maybe high levels of frustrations. I guess it all comes down to the fact that i have spent a few years now trying to come to grips with my own personel identity, and i have finally started to reach a place of innerpeace and self acceptance. Part of me is wondering why do we need labels at all? why is it so hard for some of those we know as family and friends to just open their eyes and see us as ourselves?
much love jayme lynne (jaylynne500)
We need labels simply so people can describe or understand us.
The people who phrase it like: Are you trans? Are you gay?- are mostly only curious and have no wish to know us as individuals. Those who care will not be so bold. So I wouldn't give them too much thought if I was you. ;)
Love to you too,
J.
