Title: Coming out to family
Post by: djknyht on September 25, 2009, 08:01:44 PM
I am and FTM, and my family is aware of the fact that I am trans though I have never discussed this with my family. The waymy family found out was from my best friends that was my roommate while I lived there had said something to my mother, after she asked aabout my leg and arm pit hair. She my friend pretty much gave a brief run down of ->-bleeped-<-? if I could put it that way. I dont share the things I feel or the things that I experience through this whole transition.

My family does not call my by my choosen name, still by my birth name and very rarely she refers to me as him (usually when shes to drunk to realize whats up and down is when she refers to me as male.) Not once has she refered to me as Damien, and it short of gets under my skin espcially after the "prank" she pulled and thought was oh so funny on my birthday.

I would really like for her to refer to me and a him, and by my name, though I find it hard as if I'm disrespecting her by expecting her to call me by anything other then the name that she gave me at birth. she is my life giver.

Can anyone help, I dont exactly know wht kind of help im asking for, this is just a problem that  havnt been able to solve myself
