Hi everyone,
I am about to begin my second attempt at transition. My first attempt was 15 (!) years ago, but I underestimated the ferocity of family opposition and overestimated my ability to cope with it.
Since then, my unhappy life has only spiraled downward, and I have reached a point where transition really is the only healthy alternative. Its a choice I should have made before now, but that is where I am currently.
Anyhows, I'm looking forward to laughing and learning with you guys!

Hi Lynn, :icon_wave:
Welcome to our little family. Over 3200 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.
Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams. Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.
But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. :icon_hug:

I understand the second go round, I also did the same thing about 25 years ago. But this time I am doing well and you shall too. Cute name, by the way. I like it for some reason. ::)
Blessed Be.

Hi, Lynn. Welcome to Susan's.
I hope this time it works for you. I looked into "The Change" 25 years ago but didn't have the ability to cope with the problems at that time. The times are more accepting now and hopefully, like me, you've learned a few coping skills in the meantime. ;)
Good luck on your journey. It can be quite a roller-coaster, so hold onto your hat. :D

Yes, the name Lynn
does have a certain cachet, doesn't it?
Thank you for the welcome, and for the encouragement too. The road ahead is a steep one, but perhaps not as daunting as earlier in my life. I know the route better and its so much more traveled these days, too. These things make a difference.

Kate, thank you! I'm relieved to know there are others here who started transition once, but turned around, only to be successful later on. I'm doubtful at my ability to learn much of anything, much less coping skills, but I think I will do okay. I can't say I ever cared for roller coasters, but having endured the lows of the past few years, I'm ready for some highs.
I'm glad that Susan's Place exists and that we all have made it our home. Having the support of others here will be of enormous help, since I live in a part of the US without TS individuals (AFAIK) or support professionals.
Welcome to the forum, Lynn. I wish you the best as you transition. Please keep us posted on your progress.
:)
Thanks Gennee! This place seems friendly, but you all may get tired of me complaining or exulting about my progress (or its lack.)
hi Lynn, welcome! I'm on my second attempt to transition too, much better the second time around :)
