I just recieved a letter from the nhs giving me an appointment to go and see someone at the 'speech therapy' department at newc hospital. at first i thought it was a mistake, but then i saw at the bottom that it was signed by a 'member of the north east gender team'
any ideas as to why i have an appointment at the speech therapy department? i have never heard any thing bak until now from the nhs since i went to by doc to be referred to the gender disorder clinic.
the app is next week and kinda worried and confused.... please can someone help me???
Call them and ask how you ended up with this appointment, that you don't remember asking for it.
That would seem like the best answer to me.

Yes, call them. It may be that the gender clinic is a subset of the speech therapy clinic for some peculiar bureaucratic reason.
When in doubt, ask. :)
Good luck with your appointment, wherever it is. :D

Maybe they think that you're an MTF and need voice therapy.
Speech Therapy is often part of the process with many MTF transgenders from my experience.
