Title: Facial Hair Growth
Post by: Ryan on October 05, 2009, 07:01:19 PM
Are there any (preferably legal) supplements or anything that can aid pre-T hair growth.
I've been reading about Rogaine/Regaine aka Minoxidil but not sure if it's safe/a good idea.

I'd kill for a good set of sideburns and a bit of stubble!

Thanks guys!

As far as I know: No. Some guys have used Rogaine but it just increases growth so you'll probably get thicker/longer peach fuzz. I've heard of guys using just for men to make it look more like whiskers but that has mixed results.

I'm afraid I've never heard of anyone really having success with trying to grow facial hair pre-T.

I do have facial hair and Im pre t. I have high testosterone though. Unfortuntely, my mom made me get it lasered for 2 years because of it. Im not doing that nonsense anymore but because of it its not growing as much as it should :(

My advice is that if you have any peachfuzz at all just shave it off and it will grow back.

Yeah, I've been shaving my peach fuzz for ages. It doesn't have any effect on hair growth or thickness though.

No non-T alternative that I can think of.

...and even on T, some of us still can only grow peach fuzz >.<

Progesterone birth control pills? Maybe?

Just get on T.

And even then you may not grow much hair.

What I've heard about Rogaine is that if you stop using it your hair falls out. Now, this is for people who have lost their hair and are trying to grow it back. Someone using it to grow pre-existing hair... I don't know. I personally wouldn't trust it.

I can't really give you much advice buddy. I am 17 months on T and I can barely grow side burns and I have a few whiskers on my chin more hair on my neck. But nothing that noticable!  :(

But I have a killer low voice and masses of hair every where else! :-\
