Colors seem brighter. Textures seem softer. I feel pretty damn good. And also, when did women become so attractive?! They seem to be everywhere too, never noticed that before...anyways, what I wanted to ask about was the differences between subcutaneous injections and intramuscular injections. I'm doing subcutaneous, so the needle is very short--less than an inch. I know that intramuscular is more like one inch to one and a half inches, so I was wondering if there were any substantial differences between depositing the testosterone underneath the skin in the more fatty areas, or right into the muscle.
For example, I sometimes read about people who do intramuscular, and they feel the effects pretty soon after (is this accurate? I'm not really sure). I did my injection over 12 hrs ago, and only just started feeling this way (increased energy, noticing women like whoa, feeling a bit more aggressive/gutsy/assertive). Does subcutaneous have a more steady, slower rate of release? Most of what I've read regarding injections deal with intramuscular, so I was kind of taken aback when I realized I got prescribed the subcutaneous method of injection and saw the teensy needle. Thanks for any and all replies!
I've actually heard from a few who have been on subcutaneous injections and they all seemed to develop at the same rate as those taking intramuscular injections. But others may have other opinions or more information.
I'm interested in if there's a difference too.. I have a pretty bad needle phobia that I'm trying VERY hard to get over for when I start T, so the subcutaneous is really appealing to me, aha. Tiny needles, yes sir, the tinier the better haha!

I hope you're right...I had one person I asked mention the different absorption rate, but that's about it. Also, CupcakeMan, I didn't feel the needle at all! I self-injected my first one, so I had uncapped the needle and was resting the tip on my thigh, thinking I'd need to psych myself out for a little, when I realized that I had accidentally pushed it in already. I think that might have more to do with the fact that I used a small needle size though, as opposed to the length. Either way, I'm not complaining! :D
I can't tell you how much better it makes me feel now that you've said that. ;D I was afraid I'd be torturing myself for the rest of my life :-X

you never know, ive been torturing myself for about 9 months now. :/
I'm doing subcutaneous as well and I think my changes have been about the same as people who do the IM. I've read somewhere that sub-q works faster but that hasn't been my experience, and I haven't heard of others who've had that experience either. I think both methods are pretty much equal
I'll have to read up on the different absorption rates, since I inject weekly sub-cu may actually work for us weekly types. As it is, I use #22 needles and they're not the sharpest either, you should appreciate those sharp little #25's or whatever you're using.
sub-q can lead to an abscess since it isnt as deep.
I don't know how what I do would be classified. I started out doing strictly intramuscular injections, with a 1 1/2-inch needle, and continually hit nerves, which only made my already high shot anxiety even higher. For the past 8 months or so, I've been using 1 inch needles, and alternating between normal shots and shots using z-tracking. I haven't noticed that changes have come any more slowly than before, though I doubt a 1-inch would be sufficient to get very far into my muscle, considering I have incredibly muscular thighs.
I've heard, as well, that subcutaneous produces faster changes, but have no information to back it up. But dude, honestly... you're not going to feel incredible 12 hours after a shot because of the testosterone itself. That's psychosomatic... probably just the result of feeling that you've finally accomplished one of the biggest steps in your transition. Congrats, but don't fool yourself.
