For abusive smites, Wolfie has lost the ability to modify other users Karma forever.
I have removed the smites from log for the people in question and removed the smite points. I also gave the people improperly smited 1 additional karma each as my way of apologizing for what happened to them.
Marco and Mikko I apologize to you both for the actions of Wolfie.
All karma modifications must have a reason.
The reason must be in line with the rules of the site and not be abusive.
Modifications must be for the message in question and not a result of previous posts.
Negative smites will be reviewed and abuse will not be tolerated. The karma system is not intended to be a club, it's a way to let people know when they are exceptional or they cross the lines of acceptable conduct.
This is one of the reasons I feel at home here. Susan, you are fair and reasonable. You pull no punches. And when things need attention, you take care of it with confidence and sureness. Thank you for being you.

Love being female
Thank you Susan. This is one reason we all appreciate you as much as we do. It is what I will call Susan's justice ;)

I would never think of using the "smite" and have rarely given any "karma."
Personally I think for a forum where emotions naturally tend to run high, it isn't really a very good feature to have. A cordial PM (if not public) can be much more effective with less chances of raising hackles.
I suppose Karma isn't so bad though, but still I see it as an atta girl (attaboy) for appreciated like thinking, with somewhat of a political nature.
And I appreciate that you explain to us what you've done and why. Helps me to understand better.
What you've never explained, though, is how you manage to stay awake 24 hours a day, Susan.

Agreed, as Sandi said the nature of this forum means emotions tend to run high sometimes and we should take that into account before resorting to a karma change.
Thank you Susan for taking the time to correct these kinds of issues...it's comforting to know that you are always there to right the wrongs :) .
I was struck when I saw those two smites - what's going on here? Seemed really out of character from the little I have known about Wolfie?
Wolfie are you OK mate? Behaviour was out of character I think :( Has life just dished you up a dose of somthing nasty and you are striking out inappropriately. Susans does offer support and understanding
Hope to keep hearing from you :)
love
