Title: Hooo! Got my haircut! :DD
Post by: Matthew J. F on October 13, 2009, 02:15:40 AM
I don't know if my haircut made me more "muscular" or made me look dykish, which I hope to hell I don't look like a dyke!!!!

I finally got my Spikes back and happy as hell about getting it too! :D

I'm thinking about trimming my bangs so they can spike up as well.. what do you guys think?

You should have seen the woman who did my hair when I requested to have a "mans cut" She thought I was crazy.

A couple of people who think I look "beautiful" as a woman seemed very disappointed from observing their facial language when I showed up with my new haircut. I have a couple of other compliments saying how good my hair looks.

I can't say what my motto is in here, or else I will make the mods and the admins very unhappy, but those who don't like it... well you know what those words are that's floating around my head.

I think my father has an idea about what I am becoming.

Thanks for the compliments :D

Good looking Dude, Matt

And I know the words of the Divine Ms. M.  ;D

And it could be modified to comfort, but just doesn't have the same punch.

IMHO, no, you dont. You pass 100% to me. If I had seen those pics elsewhere, I'd have thought you're just a regular guy.

I can tell you from personal experience that not saying them anything and letting them just cut your hair however *they* think looks good on you is just as bad, if not worse. >:( I'm pre-HRT MTF. You get the picture.

OK I'm gonna ruffle some feathers here but you do NOT pass at all, even though the haircut is very neat.

OK so why is this? I think part of it is, I can't think of when I've seen a guy with a nice little garden of spikes like that. Cute, but it's dyke. Very dyke.

Secondly, your face has a lot of roundness to it, it's very soft and round and details are rounded. I'm assuming you're pre-T. I'm three and a half months on T and my face is MUCH more angular, and even then I'm just starting to pass. At a FTM meeting a couple of nights ago I spent a fair amount of time scoping out this young guy, on T for something like 4 years, I'm sure he thought I was "interested" but it was research. The dude's face is just boney, there's just a lot of angularity there. That's what apparently makes it male - even in the case of guys who are significantly overweight, there's something about the bigness of the facial features and the size of the jaw, even under the padding, that says "male".

I'm NOT picking on you, just calling it how I see it, which may help you get read as male more in the future. In my own case, heck no matter what I did, without T I was just gonna be dyke city.

I think he could pass for a younger male, maybe a teenager.

There's something going on though that says female. I'm thinking also it's the ratio of neck size to head size and the underdevelopment of the traps. Fortunately, those things can be changed by doing neck exercises and shrugs. A guy with your bulk and muscle size would have a big neck and traps that are convex not concave. Muscle up and you could look like a guy with maybe a wrestling background. T helps a lot with that of course but there's a lot you can accomplish without it too.

Nice haircut. Now I agree that you're pretty masculine, but something about your mouth outs you.

And like Alex said, your face is fleshy. It's cool hair though.

Silverfang - yeah, I was gonna put that in, that there's something about the mouth. I hate to say it, but it's something I call the "dyke frown". Guys' mouths tend to be wider, and even if the lips are as fleshy, they're more straight across and some guys even have a very slight smile going on. You can train your mouth to do this to a pretty good extent, and it helps make you look more approachable too.

Alex,
You did not ruffle my feathers, not at all. I did not see your post as picking on me, just see it as being honest. I come here to get honest answers to the questions that I ask. I know I have a lot of work to do before I even pass as being a male (although some time ago I passed off as a male by 1 woman when I first had my spikes). My boobs in particular does not help me to pass because I was curse with big boobs, since all of the women in my family has big hooters :(

As for my age. I'm 26 years old so I find it a compliment that you see me as a Pre-T.

Kvall,
Unfortunately I'm not bless with having a low voice tone. I don't sound like a guy. I will try to see if I can get an audio format file of what I sound like and upload it here.

SilverFang, is it my lips? I've noticed my lips when I was looking at my photo before. it has an M shaped, very feminine :(

By Pre-T I mean pre-testosterone. You're not taking testosterone yet are you?

Something I couldn't quite put my finger on but it's probably like Alex said that your mouth isn't as wide as a guy's.

Alex,
ah! So thats what you meant to say when you asked me if I'm a Pre-T. No I'm not on testosterone yet. I'm currently doing my research of finding a therapist that specialize in Gender issues that will accept my insurance. So far I've found 1 thats close by and another thats around an hour away from where I'm at. While I'm doing my research gives me the perfect appropriately of living my new lifestyle as a man. More experience of living like a man the faster that I will get T.

I feel that it's going to be heck of a lot harder for me to access testosterone(legally), especially surgery because I have a psychiatric history. When I do find a therapist that specialize in Transgender... I have to be honest with her/him and tell him/her everything without lying. I will have to prove to her/him that I'm not being psychotic or being manic. I will have to prove to her/him that I'm not being crazy.

I'm already seeing an endocrinologist for a possible thyroid condition, I hope the medication that I'm taking now wont have serious effects on T. I will have to ask my doctor on Monday about the combo of both drugs and if it's safe enough.

Chris,
Thank bro!  >:-) >:-) ;D ;D >:-) ;D

Oh, so ou thought I was asking if you were pre-Therapy!

Frankly dude you look right now like just the kind of lesbian I try to avoid - the kind that wants to fight in the parking lot because I looked at the clock, which happens to be in the same end of the room as your GF (GF defined as a gal who's with someone else but you have your eye on naturally) lol.

Getting on T may help you mentally, mileage varies.

as someone with a "psychiatric history", i can tell you that it generally doesnt matter as much as people worry that it does.

kayden knows a lot about this, maybe he'll jump in on that.

True fact. I'm not sure how many psychiatrist do this but I had to take two psychological tests to "rule out" anything else. They also showed if you have transgender issues/tendencies as well. Since he makes all trans patients do it I think it's more for medical, insurance and CYA reasons. Anyway, don't let that hinder you.

I think your hair cut is very low maintenance style and looks fun. I had that cut at the beginning of the year and have switched to a parted down the side/middle kinda deal.

I agree with Alex in that I don't think you pass...you've got a similar face structure to me actually, and cursed with similar issues. Your face is rounder with too much fat distribution in the cheeks and such, with a neck slightly too thin and not much muscle buildup. The hair looks decent, but I actually went with something a little bit longer than yours to hide the fact my hairline is very not masculine (and I don't have the patience to pluck it like such).
Funny enough, I pass best when I don't make any attempt at styling my hair...I just get up in the morning, wash my face and if my hair's sticking up weird I might throw some water on it to smooth it a bit but otherwise it stays where it lays. Whenever I spike it, I put a little gel in each and quickly ruffle my hair front to back, the less amount of time styling the better.

Hopefully T will help the both of us :D

Nope the pics I have up are pre-T or a few weeks on T and you're right, I've not been passing worth a darn until very recently.

I went to Renegades, a guy's bar I used to go to quite a lot, and it was kinda funny, the guys were all over me lol. I am starting to pass a lot more, seems 4 months on T now, my jaw is squarer, my hair coarser, voice lower, and a lot more upper body mass, so that a lot of my T-shirts are too small now.

But you are right and are naming the factors correctly, and even now I'm only passing about 50%.

T is great, I just noticed this morning that the tiny hairs around my bellybutton are getting coarser and darker, happy trails to me!

Gotta agree with Alex C... Scary butch lesbians in my area get that cut and your face is a little too soft looking. I here hydroxicut helps with that. -shrug- it works for a guy who's naturally transitioning to make his face angular... and it also helped his abdominal area square out... this guy is HOT ;) He does not look feminine at all. I'll try and get some links for all you boys who are Pre T.
