Title: Does hormone make you become FAT?
Post by: Shelina on October 16, 2009, 02:40:11 AM
It's making me fat but on both side of my waist flesh are growing and all jeans, trousers are getting tighter and tighter and soon unwearable. This is really starting to piss me off! I even wanna stop taking hormones cos of this.

How do you deal with this?

Are you ->-bleeped-<-ting me?

It's called developing as a woman. You'll grow boobs too.

How have you been going through this for over ten years and not know the basics of transition?

No seriously, all of these threads you've made about your life and how you've been beaten by men, lost your job, and forced into prostitution because of your GID and you're considering not transitioning because your figure is filling out?

I like most of the characteristics hormones are giving me except the side of my waists. It's f...... infuriating. All my jeans are going tight, specially I just bought them recently.

God, this is why I posted in Fashion not to buy tight fitting pants prior to or in early transition. You gain weight, especially in the thighs (or hips, if you're lucky) and lower abdomen, and ass.

It doesn't matter if you wear a size 2 or a size 12 if your body is proportioned and healthy and in good shape.

Clothes fitting differently is just part of the territory.  My pants are tighter around the butt and thighs and much looser in front than they used to be.  I'm really confused that you'd consider stopping HRT because of it  ???  I guess women's pants are out of the question at this point in time?

Yes.  Women have a naturally higher level of body fat than men.   It is your body becoming hormonally female.

Remember, the daily intake of calories for a man is around 2500, for a woman a healthy diet is around 2000.

At the start of transition I took the necessary decision to lose weight and eat more healthily.  I didn't exactly diet.   I just cut out the rubbish, no chips, sweets or burgers, and replaced  them with fruit or salad.   I am fairly active and throughout the summer, I have played a lot of golf (walking is great exercise for weight reduction), I do about 15 miles twice a week on my bike.   I have also started doing some simple exercises to sculpt my bum, tum and thighs (see my entry on exercise).

I have never been a big drinker but I have virtually stopped drinking alcohol.   Just the occasional glass of wine is enough, two and I'm anybody's!

Non transitioning women spend a lot of their lives watching their figure and taking exercise.   They are the target market for health clubs, gyms and personal trainers.

You have to work at your transition.  It is not enough to take the hormones and carry on with the rest of your life as if nothing has changed.

By eating a healthy diet, and most importantly, by not starving myself, I have lost about two and a half stone and have reduced my waist by four inches.   I can't wait for a flat stomach, firm boobs and a killer butt but I know that I will have to work extremely hard to reach my goal and most importantly, not just rely on hormonal changes.

Yeah its pretty much your becoming a woman.
It almost seems like you are transitioning blind.

Shelina has been in transition for ten years and doesn't know what to expect?
Her whole story, is starting to sound a little unbelievable isn't it?  :eusa_think:

I wish!   After a decade on HRT I just get fat on my belly and no fat at all on my hips or legs or breasts....
my lower legs are so skinny you can see the ridges of the bones.

Not at all. I've been in transition for 10 years also and not much has happened for me on HRT and anti - androgens in all that time.

I am sorry that your experience with HRT has been less than what
most can expect. This however is not the case with Shelina, whose body,
according to her, is responding to the hormones she is supposedly ingesting.

Hey, regardless of her true motivation, I'm getting some great laughs from her posts!

I think others have similar problems from what I've seen but don't admit it or are easily pleased with very minor results.

I agree but I am sure you are not suggesting that all are delusional about
their results from HRT. Being a "late transitioner" myself, I don't ever expect
to make it to the Super Bowl as a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader but I am
pleased with my results, which some might consider lackluster. Almost
one year into HRT, my body now resembles that of a "born female" more
than it ever has in my entire life but that has very little to do with
my new found level of comfort, with me. As I said I honestly feel
bad that you feel that your results are less than you expected.

Yes, I think many are delusional about what results they really have. I'm glad you think your body looks like a genetic female (I haven't seen you, so I can't comment on you personally), unfortunitly mine doesn't. But over the years I've been to a few TS conventions, and events where many Transsexuals meet and the majority have one thing in common. They do not have a female shape. I only ever saw one TS who looked bodily physically female and she was from Thailand.

Did you actually read what I wrote or did you read what you wanted into what I wrote?

I hope it doesn't hurt your feelings but if we were ever to meet and my appearance
did not meet with your approval, it really would not mean a great deal of fly speck to me.

Of the tens of thousands of transitioning woman in the world and
on the wonderful warped web you have only seen 1 TS who looked
bodily physically female. That statement sounds a little delusional.

There is a supposedly a "cortisol connection".  Cyproterone made me lazy, et al.  And it didn't do enough for my andro-situation.  It also put my blood preasure at "high" levels. (which has never ever happened to me before)

My solution to the blood preasure situation was Hydrocortizone Spray.  Replaces the coritsol lost from progesterone duping.

But this was only a temporary solution and I quit to taking it.  The overall it was good initially to drop the T down.  The E seems to have initiated some sort of hormonal change and the T is not back fully now.  So I'm OK but I could be doing better, waiting for something new.  ->-bleeped-<- loads more energy!
