:P i love red and anything that sparkles!
I've always been a big fan of glitter,so when it comes to choosing a fingernail polish color, i normally choose kinds that sparkles.
>:( even thoe they cost like 5 bucks at sallys
i like the darker reds almost marroon in color and clears
oh yesss those are pretty too! hehe :P
I'm really into pink at the moment.
BTW I'm thinking of getting falsies (nails ), any experiences anyone?
Cindy
I used to love coloured nail polish, but lately I've decided that clear's my favourite! It's simple, yet shiny! And it doesn't show chipping as easily. I think I might try to find a clear-with-sparkles the next time I'm out.

You can take some white-out and paint the tip of your finger nails and layer and then layer your whole finger nails with clear nail polish... it looks professional!
I like colors that go with my attire. Almost anything is good with a few exceptions. No glow in the dark, green, blue ,black or bright orange.
Cindy, Fake nails are ok but they can damage your real nails if left on too long. Also sometimes one will come off at the most inopportune moment. Fall into your food or the toilet.
I wear allsorts... Mostly it depends on the outfit.
I wear allsorts from clear, black, reds, pinks, purples.... blues. Generally i'm lazy and go without.
Fav? Purple. :)
I've always liked red, but the next bottle I buy I think i'm going to go with something else.
I have a fluorecent orange on that's awesome at night!
I am particulalry partial to metalic colors but have quite a range. My fravorites include a red with a gold sheen to it, that is lovely. I have an awsome strong yellow which is really unusual but nice (takes a million coats though). I also have a great electric blue.
Dark red...no wait emerald...no wait dark blue with sparkles...this question is totally loaded! Basically I like my nails painted... The color is changing like my moods but as of late I haven't been able to wear my polish for more than a weekend which makes me sad. Professional appearance at work is a b****.
ooo i love those, ill have to try them!
I seen a puple with pink sparkles that i thought was just lovely !
I also think a Hot Pink color is really pretty on all types of skin tones
it depends on what I'm wearing, but I usually like pinks or dark burgundys. Rimmel has a brand called "60 seconds" which dries completely in that amount of time. Really! I love the 340 Torrid, which is a dark maroon, almost black color. The only problem is it wears off after not much longer than that.
My favorite general purpose for everyday wear is Sally Hanson Diamond Strength in #38 Rose Petals, a beautiful opalescent pink. Now that stuff last for days and days. I usually change it long before it ever wears off.
And then there's Pure Ice by Bari Cosmetics (in various colours) which is all shimmery with lots of glitters if I'm really dressing up to go out on the town. :)
I had one polish called 'nail foil' or something like that. I think it was by 'hot topic'. It was almost chunky and thick with metalic bits and left a slightly rough finish to it (I had a silver pink color). But man it was awsome, that stuff hardly ever came off, it was like industrial nail polish, a layer of nail armour, and because of the roughness it really caught the light.
It was kind of like this:

Yeah, I think it was hot topic though I did not have a skull on the bottle - same bottles though, pretty distinctive. I recommend them.

OO thats pretty!!
Black is probably my favorite (it goes best with all of my alternative clothing )
Hot Neon pink. It's a very fun color.
Brite Red or Pearlescent White.
Janet
Lately? Burgundy with pearl white tips :icon_chick:
Light Pink and Dark Reds
Greens and purples usually cuz they tend to match well with what I normally wear. Love peach and pink tones too. I'm noticing alot of metallics when out and about lately especially silver.
My full time shade, on my fingers, is a sort of "skin tone" shade with heavy glitter - I LOVE the sparkles. I prefer a more girly color but I'm trying to not be completely over the top yet.
While we were in merle Norman todays we saw this:
(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.haircareusa.com%2Fimages%2Fopi%2Flarge%2Fopi_nail_polish_strawberry_margarita.jpg&hash=ea714f23fde64ef131d5e03d6367dc9072d2f2f8)
And I fell in love. So we went to Wal Mart and found the closet shade to it in the cheap stuff.
I replaced the color I had on my toes with that and it's great.
when I go into Memphis next week I'll wear it on my fingers too. It's gonna be REAL hard to take it off!
You cruel evil lot
I just had to go out and buy a new shade
Wildflower by Revlon.
A yummy BRIGHT pink
Oh well time for a shower and do the toesies
:-*
Cindy (I do wish my credit card would stop crying, it's embarrassing)

OMG Laura,
Just about the same shade!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cindy
I like a nice light to medium pink shade, but that is only when I am going out. Usually I prefer a nice clear nail polish or nothing when I am working, since I do a lot of work with my hands.
Just clear gloss for me so far. I have noticed several people looking at my nails at work (guy mode) but noone has said anything out of the ordinary about it. My nails are so brittle without it-now I can keep them longer and I love having them well trimmed and neat.

Right now my favorite color is clear. But that is because I am not far enough in my transition yet. :(
I also like those little decorations you can get for your nails, little jewels and flowers and stuff. It really makes them unique :)
I tried clear, until my daughter busted me on wearing it :D
Once busted, I had to back off.......

I saw them at Walmart in the cosmetic accessories section where they keep the nail clippers and such, they come in little sheets of stick-ons
Love Red but went with alot of pink and corals this summer. Just had a mani/pedi and tried a dark red, I've had several compliments so I'm going to try plum next week, we will see?
if you go to a nail salon you can get all kinds of hand painted designs for around 50 to hundred depending on difficulty i seen ones with little dragons on each nail for chinese new years etc
jessica
I made my own color from OPI's Kyoto Pearl and plain ol' Black from Sephora. The result? A silver-ish mixture i've dubbed Black Pearl (after the ship in the Pirates Of The Caribbean movies.)
It seems I've inherited my dad's painter aesthetic and just want to mix colors until I have a whole new set of great stuff to play with. :o
Sounds like fun  I like mixing paint too
There is nothing sexier than a woman wearing black or red nail varnish ;)

I agree, nail decorations can look pretty and feminine, but my age is pushing on (52) these days my prefer color for toe and finger nails is my beloved pink with matching lippy
p
always black.. always
