Title: I want to stop doing hrt from the street.
Post by: Bellaon7 on October 24, 2009, 01:19:57 AM
Is there another option, like maybe a dr from a different country? Can I go to Canada or Mexico to get dependapble hrt? You can get anything off the street, but I'm not getting what I pay for. Whatevere it is its not hrt.

Of course there is the "Gender Therapist/Medically Supervised" route but
there seems to be a legal alternative in "Informed Consent Clinics" for HRT.

Yeah, I think that unless you want to go the therapist and doctor route, this might not be an appropriate question for the forum.

Quote from:  Site Rules8. The discussion of hormone replacement therapy(HRT) and it's medications are permitted, with the following limitations:

      A. Advocating for or against a specific medication or combinations of medications for personal gain is strictly prohibited.
      B. Discussing the means to acquire HRT medications without a prescription, and self medication without a doctors care is prohibited.
      C. Discussing dosages is strongly discouraged to prevent information obtained on this site from being used to self medicate.

We can not in good conscience condone the self administering of these medications. Not only may self medication be illegal, but HRT medications can cause serious health problems, and many have the potential for life-threatening side effects that can only be detected and prevented with proper medical supervision.

While it is not permitted to discuss non-medically supervised "street level" HRT,
I believe it is beneficial to all to discuss legally available medically supervised
alternatives, which "Informed Consent Clinics" are. If I am incorrect in this
assumption I am sure one of the wonderful mods will set me straight.  :icon_yes:

Your making me worry and cry dear

Stay away from the "street vendors"

It took a year for me to get my HRT going. My E and Spiro come in untampered original packaging and I know what it is.

Street vendors will sell you whatever and say it's whatever you want to hear if it means a buck to them.

I don't want to read about you ODing on some stupid stuff  :P

Many endos / other doctors experienced with the kind of HRT you need will write you a prescription for the medicine and blood work if you are already on something.  Most would prefer you are doing it safely and that you are healthy - questionable vendors aside, there are real health complications that can be associated with HRT that should be monitored and treated if needed.

If you do a net search using keywords:

Transgender Informed Consent Clinic

You will find results for oganizations where you will be able to
spend your money legally and receive medically supervised transgender
care and get away from the slime and danger of the "Street Pharmacies".
While going this route, will make it easier for you to receive hormones,
you will still need two letters from a therapist and one from a physician
for surgery, if that is your ultimate goal, aside from surviving.

I've been really lucky, even after going w/o ins for 1 1/2 yrs my Gp, who I've been seeing for 10 yrs has continued to renew my E Rx at the compounding pharm. I get my spiro directly from his office & called in my order nearly 3wks ago & was told it would be in, in a day or 2. After days turned into weeks & my T level started going through the roof I got really unstable & panicked & head to that part of town & bought what was supposed to be spiro, but wasn't. I want to go back down there & grease that slimeball! My pharm at the Dr agreed to call in a temp spiro Rx to walmart on their $4/$10 option. I called walmart twice yesterday/night & they said no request made. I was really getting upset & really wanted to go back downtown, but was scared of what I'd do if I ran into that bunk peddler. I had to go to walmart today anyway so I checked the pharm & it was ready so everything is cool for now, unless I run into that scumball pusher.
