Hey girls
I'm Elijah, and being FTM I know all about what T goes to the female body, and what surgeries are needed, chest reconstruction, bottom surgery, hysterectomy etc
But what does HRT do for MTF? I never knew that it actually helped develop breasts, but to what extent? What are some things that cannot be reversed in your bodies... for example I have girly hips, and those will never completely go away. I thought I saw a post about the penis becoming smaller, is this true? What surgeries do you ladies get?
btw you are so lucky that you can get such satisfying results with your bottom surgery :P
thanks
- I wish to be educated about the MTF's too! :D
Softer skin, finer body hair, some distribution to the hips and buut. And of course breasts. At least in my case.

The first things that came in my head from memory for FTM's were:
skin condition and feel changes/problems (depending), muscle increase/build (not sure how to name it) and hair growth.
We should expect fat redistribution (hips and butt, but also lower belly), breast development, softer less porous skin, reduction in the size of the subaceous cells (which also means softer less porous skin), finer and perhaps reduced body hair, loss of muscle mass, loss of bone density, reduced risk of prostate cancer but increased risk of osteoperosis, usually a halt to the progression of male-pattern baldness but not hair regrowth, and probably some other things. Long-term hormone use may shrink the testicles but probably won't affect the penis much (I think) other than loss of the ability to get an erection. I've also heard of and experienced weaker fingernails. There are a number of health risks, too, including increased risk of blood clots and liver damage among other things.
We should NOT expect much change in facial hair, smaller shoulders (except for some rounding), narrower chest, change in voice (from the hormones, that is), or increase in pelvic width if over some age (20? 25?).

thanks Kate
very informative, I hope this isnt too intrusive, and I wonder If I can say it on Susan's but, can you still experience orgasm sense you don't get erections?
Erections become more difficult to achieve after prolonged HRT.
The ejaculate changes from a normal white to clear and finally ceases over time.
Orgasm still remains possible even without ejaculate.
The exact nature of the orgasm may change over time.
After SRS orgasm may be difficult to achieve for some due to nerve damage and the problem of relearning what works.
Statistics say that 85-95% of post-op MTF's can achieve orgasm.
To add a few things to kate's list. The body odor changes, for me my finger nails got slightly smaller and more rounder/ arched. There are some mental changes too. Hum....I had alot of srinkage down low, but it all depends on genes.

I might have missed it but I don't see less muscles being in the list.
Emotional changes.
Less body hair, facial hair did get less or weaker, or both, but still needed to be lasered.
Your whole face changes, but it is more restricted in mtf than ftm because a girl's skull is usually more like a child skull, a men's skull is more developed, so things might stay obvious in some.
Some are luckier, some are less, some didn't develop at all in that aspect, some didn't develop more than some girls do, some just started before it could.
I am not sure if someone said this one too, but people usually say loss of sex drive, I wouldn't know about that one :P (my poor boyfriend)
I have only been on e long enough for the mental changes...and WOW what a diferance between mind sets. (and I was of the opinion that this was just a placebo effect reported by other MTF people. WRONG!) lol
Hey, thanks ladies, I too am a young ftm lol and a friend came out to me today as an mtf so it's useful to know what will happen to her when she starts her hormones. I'll encourage her to come on here if she isn't already! I wish we could just swop our hormones, would be so much easier! ;)
