Title: I'm one of those people that doesn't like body hair. wbu?
Post by: notyouraverageguy on November 04, 2009, 04:57:57 PM
(On myself)
I know T changes a lot of things, especially phsically. But the only reason I need it is for a deeper voice, and fat distribution/muscle.

I guess you can say im one of those guys that doesn't like hair on their body.
I think its mainly because I've had hair since I was born...
I know some guys are probably thinking 'your lucky', but I've never really liked it.
I do like having a happy trail though, lol.
(My best friend likes to play with it)
But I do try to get rid of my hair, and have struggled with it my whole life.
I honestly don't like it, but im sure it helps me present(my arms and face) without me even trying.

I have thought about hair removal since I was young, but im poor and not sure of the outcome(especially because I have it all over, not like that one syndrome thing, but I have way more than "normal").[I would keep it on my arms, face, and the happy trail]

So im pretty sure that T would only make it worse, and that's something I don't want.
I wish there was something that only targeted voice and fat/muscle that I could take, it would totally fit me.

I know cisguys that don't like body hair on themselves as well, but I've never met a transguy that agrees.

What do you think about your body hair, and why?

Don't have much, I'm pre-T.

Don't think too much of it, it's not such a big deal. Well hair would probably help me pass better.

On T, I'll get hairier, and I'm not very concerned about it. I'll have to add "shaving my face" to my routine though and quite frankly I'm lazy

Transguys seem to make a big deal out of facial and body hair. But only the near-hairless ones.

Laser and electrolysis are expensive. And I haven't had it done, but I'm pretty sure electrolysis is painful. Ask the MTFs.

Well, consider that statement blown  ;D

At least partially.

I'm not overly fussed about body hair (having it or not having it), but if I turn into a forest I do think I would make some effort to keep it maintained.  Compare that to pre-T, when I couldn't have cared less and never shaved my legs.  Ever.  Well, on a whim I just shaved 'em for the first time a week ago.  It's interesting, I kind of like it.  Then again, I like the look of hair on my legs, too.  I like both.  There ya go.

(I speak only of legs because that's the only place where I have significant hair.  Except for the happy trail, which I am keeping, because it makes me happy.)

I used to not want body hair, but now I think it's awesome, lol. I'm pre-T btw and blonde, and I do  have a bit of a happy trail but since I'm blonde you can't really see unless you're close.

As far as I know, no, they don't have anything that only focuses on the voice and muscle and fat. If they did, I'd switch off to it once I got desirable results on T.

But here's why my thinking changed. When the anime craze hit, I was really into it, not as big as some people but I would always look up new anime and stuff. No one really had body hair in anime, in most anyway. I didn't like the bishi look one bit. Maybe it was because I like girls, but even though I could tell the difference between the men and the women aesthetically in these scenarios, I didn't really care much for it. During that time we were all going through puberty and my legs were getting hairier and my armpits were growing in. And I found that I actually liked that, that I was proud of something I shouldn't be proud of.

I started breaking away from anime more and more, and got into what I originally liked before anime. War RTS games and more western fantasy stuff. The artwork had big musclebound men(who apparently didn't shave like the DBZ fellows) and I realized that I had always liked the super muscle bound -looked like he was taking testosterone injections too- monsters and warriors. And their stories always seemed more realistic and I could relate, rather than some of the manga heros I had read and watched. And dangit, I realized I had always wanted to be a big burly man anyway, complete with hair. In a way, getting back into that stuff kind of helped me get in touch who I really was on the inside.

This is just my experience. I just happen to be a manly dude in that way.

Hair on my legs kind of bugs me, but I hate to shave so often.

Also CCC, I was saying the same thing as you 3 years ago. And now that it's happened, a little hair is really not the big deal I thought it'd be. It feels natural growing like that. Still thinking about waxing though.

Waxing is like shaving though, you have to make it a routine to work and both effect your skin.

I'm not crazy about the body hair thing, especially since some parts of my body would pass as "boy hairy" already. I've got some stray chest hair, a happy trail that can be seen across the room, and legs and armpits are about average for a teenage guy. I've even got a couple patches of facial hair on my chin. And all this was before T....

I worry about just how much worse it's going to get. Back hair grosses me out, so if any of that shows up, or excessive chest hair, that's getting shaved period. Otherwise, I'm too lazy to do much more than shave my face.

I'm also less happy about my happy trail once it started collecting lint.

I'm definitely not "near-hairless" (FAR from it)... and although I wouldn't say I "make a big deal out of facial and body hair" I still prefer to have it than not.

I'm already a hairy bastard, so as some have mentioned, maybe I should be worried about how much more hair I'll have once I'm on T (in the distant :( future), but the thing is, I'm just *not*. I like having hairy legs, I always hated shaving them (on the odd blue moon that I caved to societal pressure and actually did so), and now that I don't bother, it's just comfy and natural for me. And I can't wait until my chest hair goes from "many dark, weird, coarse scragglies around areolas" to full on, male-pattern hair growth.

And I'm looking forward to having facial hair (well, more than just the peach-fuzz and random scraggly hairs on my upper lip and chin), but not as some sort of "{grunt} Me big hairy caveman!" validation type-thing, more just because I'm looking forward to the feel of stubble, and experimenting with different styles of facial hair (without going to some of the extreme styles, lol).

So, maybe I'm just another typical transguy for being like "I'm looking forward to being (even more of) a hairy beast", but I iz what I iz... ;D

So the point? Since you are already hairy you're not making a big deal out of it. There are no contradictions.

Well when you said that only the hairless guys make a big deal out of having it, my first thought was "I'm not hairless and I love having hair", but that was my assumption that you meant only hairless guys even *wanted* hair.

Then when I replied, I was clarifying that even though I don't make a big deal about it, I still like having hair, and want *more* hair. lol

I guess it was half a cup of misplaced assumption and 2 heaping tablespoons of poorly explaining myself. Sorry for the misunderstanding. :)

Confession time: I already shave my peach fuzz (yes, I know it's pointless, but gall-dangit, I like the act of shaving my face, even if it doesn't make it darker/thicker/whatever, so be it), and even the "baby stubble" feel of tiny little fuzz-bristles growing back, is one of my favorite things. And when my partner strokes my face and goes "mmm, stubble"... I do a li'l snoopy-happy-dance inside. ;D

The only thing I don't want is hair on my back. If I start getting hairy there, I'll definitely do something about it.

But hair on my face, arms, legs, belly...well, it's all still coming in. I have a ways to go yet. What I have, I love. And I want more.

No real chest hair yet. Sigh.

Just my 2 cents-  I prefer less hairy guys. I also have noticed a trend among transguys to be overly focused on having lots of body/ facial hair, but it does nothing for me.

I HATE hair on my person. I wax, which I think is MUCH better then shaving.  *currently saving funds to be completely lasered*

It just depends on the person, I think. Some girls like it, some don't.

Dangit, I want chest hair, and my last gf liked the idea of me being hairier. Not too hairy, but just a right amount. I don't expect myself to be overly hairy anyway.

I've always liked guys who don't have much hair, although I'm nuts about fuzzy legs. Now I'm a lot less finicky. I wouldn't mind a lover with a fairly hairy chest. But back hair...sorry, that's still a complete turnoff. On me OR someone else.

You know, if you're willing to give up fat distribution in exchange for not getting too hairy, you could go on T for a little while and let your voice drop, then go off of it.

I myself thought of this as a possibility; but once I started T, I knew I would never go back. It's dangerous to finally find the right juice...

Hubby's got hair "everywhere" including the back and nowadays I'd think a man with a hairy chest would be "lopsided" without at least "some" backfluff  too..
I love him, and so I love his hairy body...

but on me... No... just No...

So later, after all the "big" problems are taken care of,.. like I said...
I'll get rid of the body hair.

It was invented by an Australian housewife and named after her daughter, Nadine, so it's properly called "Nad's" (possesive).

I REALLY want body hair.  I am "a blessed girl" because I have thin, tiny blonde arm and leg hair, I haven't shaved my legs in moths and you can't even tell, it sucks.

I mean, I don't want to be a gorilla, but a happy trail, stubble, and hairy arms, pits, and legs would be good for me.  I don't want a hairy ass and back haha.

I don't have a lot of hair, and I don't really want to have tons. What I want is for the hair on my head to be a bit thicker. I would like facial hair (more like stubble; probably no beards or anything) at some point, and a little bit of hair on my arms and legs. Chest & back hair kinda creep me out. :D Overall, I agree; I don't really like body hair that much.

I never really cared about body hair either way prior to transition. Now, however, I'm covered in it. I don't bother shaving, because no one sees me under my clothes, so why worry? My stomach, chest (yes, hairy boobs are ugly, concurred), back, legs, arms, and everything in between are covered in hair. Only my hands and feet seem to have been spared, but they may catch up at some point. My back hair isn't too bad... pretty fine, but it covers my entire back, and I don't doubt it'll thicken like the chest hair did. As per facial hair, I now feel naked if I don't at least have stubble. Hopefully I'll fall for a girl or guy who digs hairy dudes, because shaving all that would be far more of a nuisance than I feel like dealing with.

There's a hair removal product called Nads?
The waxing strips are VERY effective, I used them on my partner's legs and they were soooo smooth and shiny afterward. He wasn't digging the pain, though XD (Once he shaved off his 'stache, and he looked so ridiculously feminine that I thought to myself that if he dressed in drag, put on some lipstick and waxed his legs again he could pass as a woman, an ugly one tho lol)

On-topic, I'm pre-T still and have only hairy legs & pits. I think I've counted 3 dark 'stache hairs after shaving my face for a year and half, meh. I can't wait to grow hair on T.  I think I could stand most body hair but bum and back hair, so I'd might have to get some more Nad's for that.
