Title: I told my friend today.
Post by: Luna! on November 05, 2009, 10:22:17 PM
So, I came out to my friend earlier today!
It was interesting in that it came from a nearly unrelated topic (a teacher's aide she thought was cute) to my being trans. She had remarked on this guy being kind of feminine (which she likes), but said he wasn't 'really' feminine like me. I said something about thinking that it's funny that I'm 'really feminine', because I'm "still holding back a little". She, of course, enquired as to what I meant and it went smoothly from there.

She took it quite well, as one would expect from someone who had remarked on my femininity numerous times before. It was kind of an 'oh, really?' moment.

She does think she'd like me better as a boy though. Oh well, it was two months of "cute girlish boy" vs. five minutes of "girl in the guise of cute girlish boy" at that point. We'll see. ^_^

Congratulations, Luna.

You may get a few oddball comments like, "Well, you make a better looking guy."
You can only laugh off that stuff.
Many of us don't want to be any kind of guy.

Thanks, Renate! Ironically, I might end up as a bit of a tomboy.  ;D

Yeah, I asked her when she said it: "What's wrong with me being a girl?"
She paused for a moment and said "You'll have boobs," to which I replied, "So?"

I'm sure she knows it isn't going to be an overnight change, but that's the easiest way to visualize it, I suppose...
