Some do, some don't.  It really depends on what you think you need to begin RLE.  I did not and I may not in the future.

This reminds me of this American televised program I watched a few years ago where this person underwent FFS in preparation for transition & GRS but then changed his mind & ultimately decided that he wasn't a woman after all.  Apparently, he was happy with his life, had remarried his spouse; the only problem was that he had to live with a woman's face for the rest of his life, but it didn't seem to bother him.

I don't know that I will even have FFS yet. I suspect I won't need. But I can be pretty self conscious so its good to know what my options are. Thanx.   I'm realy most concerned that I will have to get a job amongst the fundamentalist nutballs here in this ultra cobsevative area and that may be necissary to be safe.

I plan on getting some FFS before I finish transitioning. If I end up getting amnesia and forget I'm supposed to be a woman then I will just be a pretty guy I guess. :)

hi!

I had FFS before RLE.

I always knew that I wanted and needed ffs, so i went into hospital as androgynous thomas, and left it as kerstin ;)

sometimes I was seen as a woman before but was "sired" much more often!
now everything is much easier and I have to explain why my documents show my male name, and they see a woman :)

yours kerstin

This is what I plan on doing. I would want to have FFS before going full time. btw, your results are fabulous!

hi!
many people (even many ts) didnt understand why i NEEDED ffs. they said "a new nose is enough" "there are women with a high hairline"  >:( .... and I always said NO. having a highline and a female nose just looks odd (at least in my case I'd have looked VERY odd *g)
so after a few weeks I had no problems being kerstin outside of my small hotelroom and i had troubles to explain why my documents state me as a man  ::)

it was expensive but it was worth going to dr suporn :)

Hi kerstin! 18 days omg, I bet you're jazzed! I agree with you, even if it weren't absolutely necessary to blend I'd have every last trace of masculinity carved off my face.

I'm so excited for you, when are you leaving for Thailand?

Wow, thats amazing! How much did the FFS cost, if you don't mind me asking?
Oh and I know how much it can cost for SRS but one of my concerns was that you are often expected to stay near the hospital afterwards for around 14 days. How much would it cost for a hotel room in bangkok?

Thank you for sharing those with us, the change is indescribable...you must be thrilled. Since it appears that Dr. Suporn has mastered head transplants I'm sure your bottom parts will be smooth sailing. Happy travels!

hotel, flight and surgery=everything it was about 23.000€?

the mercure (now choninter) was ~44.000 Baht ~1.000€, and flight again ~1.000€ I've been there for 25 days (+5days extra due the occupation of the airport  ;D ) dont know the price for hotels in bangkok and it might be annoying travelling from bangkok to chonburi just for a checkup

after ffs I grew and began my life! ;) Wanted to share the pictures because i had everything => big nose, high hairline, etc etc, and ok I'm not a beauty queen but I was never sired again and (coming back to the original topic of this thread *G)  => YES FFS before I began RLT was extremly important to me ;)
