I have an appointment with an endo today.
Chances are I won't be able to get anything as I would like to keep my fertility for another couple years but who knows... I'll let y'all know how it goes.
I am glad we have someone here near where I live who is open to providing tailored therapy to non-binaries.

I can't speak for anyone else but for me it's to enhance/create features of the oppisite side to ballance with what i already have, and to help fix bits that just feel wrong (bony bum) was the biggest issue when i started

What kinkly said - to feel (and look) more like who I am on the inside. Probably the same reason that nicky is considering going that route. I've taken hormones in the past for a period of time but am not currently taking them, and I liked the changes that came along.

I'm just taking Spiro, the endo said it should not affect my fertility, at least not become totally infertile (though he is going to do some more investigation on this, none of his references mentioned it). He said I should still take my finasteride too.
I'm really excited. He said it is pretty slow acting and it will be awhile before I see any changes, I can't wait!

One thing you might want to discuss with your endocrinologist is how long you can keep taking just spiro without running too much of a risk of osteoporosis. Bones need sex hormones, either testosterone or oestrogen, so at some point you'll have to choose. From what I've understood, though, it'll take a couple of years before things start to get interesting.

Yeah, I did ask him about that but he did not think it would be much of an issue. I think after I have another kid I will get some kind of estrogen though.
He did say it will take 8 or 9 months before I can actually say that changes I am getting are due to the spiro. I'm expecting a slow process, but hopefully not too slow!
I really hope it will eliminate most of my dark body hair - particulalry on my chest.

any hair you already have will not just fall out (pity you will need to shave) but haveing less Testosterone should at least reduce the growth

I noticed that my body hair growth slowed down noticeably when I was on hormones. My nails and hair grew faster too, and the facial hair slowed down but did not stop. The libido pretty much went away, as did thoughts of sex. And what some have described as a "calming" effect was in place. Fat redistributed. Boobs grew. Life was good.
Now that i'm off of E, the nails (and boobs) have stopped growing, libido (and associated thoughts) have returned, and body hair is growing again. Unfortunately, facial hair is back with a vengenace too, I think worse than before. Fat redistribution seems to have stayed in place for the most part. So I got the changes that I was originally after, but now I want more :)
Wo Ho nicky glad to hear that the endo was able to help, and your reducing your testostrone finally. im about a month behind you as i have just got my letter from my theripst and now just need to book an appointment with the doc to see what he suggests i go on will be looking for estrogen me though i think as well as and anti andro, or just the estrogen but will see what they say
I've been on it 5 days now. I actually feel much more zen. It could just be placebo effect, I don't know. But I feel good. My imagination is telling me my body hair is growing back slower but this is most likely wishful thinking ;)
My legs got real itchy for a couple days, but it seems to have come right. Weird.
Not too much peeing yet (being a diuretic in all), but I am not on the full dose yet. I'm required to build up over 3 weeks or so. This is just to avoid things like feeling sick and to get the body adjusting to it.

Actually, before HRT my Slavik genetics provided me with a pretty copious fur coat over most of my body (i.e., chest, back, butt, etc.), but I don't have any body hair in those places now. I don't know that it actually "fell out" on it's own, as I used to epilate a lot, but I do know that it doesn't grow back anymore and I no longer have to shave or epilate - except for facial hair and occasionally my legs.
At any rate, congratulations, Nicky. I remember when I first started posting here I kinda thought from the way you looked in your avatar pics that you already were on HRT, so I'm guessing you'll get some pretty awesome results. :)
Thanks Kyly, that is good to know it had that effects on you. I'm of slavic stock too. Perhaps we are built for colder climes.
