Title: Movies we're supposed love that we can't:
Post by: Bellaon7 on November 09, 2009, 01:06:28 AM
It's open season on movies we're supposed to to love but thinking people are foced to hate though no fault of their own. Iron Man, the premise doesn't jibe. If it could, I'd jump onboard too, it doesn't.

It's not that I don't like it... it's just that I didn't really see the fuss about District 9. It's a good movie, a bit too dull and slow in the beginning, but I just couldn't 'love' it.

I'm disheartened that you did not like Iron Man. A weapons manufacturer who realizes war isn't the best thing to make a profit from. That, and the comics would often describe Tony Stark's struggle with alcoholism. He's my favorite pi$$-drunk superhero. The movie didn't go into that as much but it's very prominent in the stories, I hope the sequel goes more into that.

Iron Man is one of the best Marvel films ever made, it's a tentpole  production which was the first made my Marvel's new production company through their deal with Paramount which will tie in to other films/series all culminating at the release of the Avengers film. And Sam Jackson was in Iron Man as nick fury, will be in Iron Man 2, is going to be in Thor, and will be in the other Avenger tie-in films as well.

That aside, Iron Man 2 comes out in May 2010. Has anyone seen the poster for that? It's got friggin War Machine on it!

As you might have guessed, I'm a big comics fan:P

HOWEVER THIS IS NOT AN IRON MAN THREAD so for a movie I cannot appreciate..... I'd have to go with....... the Twilight movies. I feel like I have to love them because they're about vampires, they're set in Washington state (my home) and they contain some Muse music (My favorite band) but really... Sparkly vampires? No Thanx.
