Does your height effect your dysphoria?
I'm 5'7", which I've been told by a lot of transguys that I'm lucky or average... well, people must be giants where I live, haha.
It used to really bother me, but now I don't mind. There's advantages to being on the short side and there are disadvantages. But I think I'm just as the right size.
I'm 6'2, and the amount of times I've hit myself on the head while walking through low doors, or past low hanging signs (SERIOUSLY! Who the F thought it was a GOOD idea to put a WOODEN FRAME around the Signs in the Grocery Store?!?), or when I've stood up too fast in the wrong spot or whatever, has made me wish, truly wish, I could share quite a few inches with you guys.
Honestly, I'd rather be just 5 feet tall than to have yet another bump on the noggin.
im short im 5'2 5'3ish...but ive been asked if it bothers me and ive never thought about it...it really doesnt bother me, ive been short all my life...it's just what i know...i prefer it now...bc it's just part of who i am and i dont mind one bit! :)
I'm 5'4". It only sucks when I'm in with a group of people who are all several inches taller than me and I suddenly feel like a kid straining to look up at people. But I know guys who are shorter than I am so it's all good. :P
5'6 and it bothers me a little. My father's six feet and I see him every day so it's a reminder of it.
Well it could be worse so I'm satisfied ;D

You should be satisfied. I'm barely over five feet and it kills me. To ice the cake, my fiancee Nicole is 6ft. *shakes head* :'( There are hardly any guys my size. That makes Ray Mysterio is my hero.
Will T help me grow some more? Let's hope so.

Depends if your growth plates have fused or not.
If you hunch over a lot, because of breasts, then you might notice you're taller once you start binding or get them removed. This is because you're standing up straight.
You guys (who don't like being 'round taller folk) shouldn't come visit my house then...
My shortest sister is 5'10 and she wears heels (2-4 inches depending) to not seem short around the other siblings.

I frequently run into women who are 5'10 or around there. Made me depressed for a while because I thought I'd be too short for them, haha.
I'm 5'6, and usually I don't pay attention to it. Most of the guys I work with are actually close to my height, and most of the women are shorter, so that helps me ignore it. My roommate is about 6'0 or 6'1 though, and his friends are usually taller than me, and they're older than me. So sometimes when I'm hanging out with them, it'll hit me. And a lot of the time, if I already feel a little dysphoric, feeling short will make me feel more feminine, and it can be a downward spiral if I don't shut my brain up.
It can be good sometimes, though...my roommate and I went out to dinner with one of his ex-boyfriends, who I have a huge crush on. I was sitting in the backseat, and his car's a two-door, so he had to move the passenger seat up so I could get in. When he pushed it back into place, his ex was like "Watch out, he's not gonna have any room!" My roommate jokingly said "Oh it's okay, he's a munchkin," and his ex was like "Um..no he isn't." The next time I got into the car, my roommate's ex was like "Watch out for his feet!" I had tons of room, but apparently I seem taller than I am.
I wouldn't mind gaining a couple inches on T, but I don't really mind where I am.
I'm about 5'5, but I slouch so much that I actually come up to only about 5'3. Where I'm from (Hawai'i) there are a LOT of people there who are shorter than me, especially most women, since Asian ethnicities dominate the island, which instantly makes me seem 'a wee bit taller' than other people. But nowadays I live in Alaska and I'm considered a shortstack.
My height really bothers me because I like to take on a dominant/masculine role in relationships, and I feel aesthetically self conscious/ridiculous topping people who are capable of looking down their nose at me ON ACCIDENT due to the sheer height difference. But if I assert myself, I'm trying too hard, and it looks like I'm an angry little dude fuming with Short Man Syndrome.
One day, when the sky was dark and I was looking up at the stars with my boyfriend, I put my arms around him from behind. He insisted on switching around with me because it 'felt awkward' since I'm 'too short'(he's 5'11 or so). Needless to say, I don't enjoy being snuggled/cradled as much as I enjoy doing the holding, and always automatically being steered toward a passive/submissive physical role because 'you're tiny, it makes more sense this way' has, over time, become revolting to me. I find this kinda sad, because I wonder if I could've enjoyed it more, if it hadn't been pushed onto me so much.
I'm 5'4". And I'm very bothered by my height. I desperately want to be taller. When I was little I was the tallest kid in class. Then in 5th grade everyone else started growth spurts and I never had one again. I'm been 5'4" since then :(. I know that I have stopped growing forever, but I hold on to that little though my body will be so shocked by T I finally have my purberty growth spurt. *crosses fingers* But yeah if there was some magic way to be 5'8"-6' I would do it
It does effect my dysphoria I hope as my transition continues its effect on me will lessen because of happiness with myself in other ways.
I'm only 5'2 and used to get called 'short a**e' at school because of it and it used to really annoy me!! The rest of my family is quite short though too, my Mum is only 5'4 and my Dad is only 5'5. They always go on about how they were average height when they were younger. My brother however managed to somehow acquire the tall genes at 5'11!! Yup, I had no chance!!
My Mum uses my height as a reason for why transitioning won't make me any happier, and I hate that.

LMAO! Huge breasts! Pbbt, NO. I barely fit an A cup. Binding eliminates anything I do have. I have a athlete's bod. Tan, muscular, and a tube body. I have no hips or breasts.
5'5.5" Most of the guys my age that I know are around 6' though, so I get teased a lot about my height. Which is why I counted the half inch. -_-'
I'm 5-6 and fine with that. I am a little below average for a male but taller than one of my brothers so it's all good.

This. I also feel like I'd pass more if I wasn't so bloody short.
5'2" and it really bothers me. Makes finding pants tough in the mens section...hell it was tough even in the ladies. My hubby is 6'5" and our fiancee is 5'8"...... :'(

You can always shorten a pair of pants. It's easy really, I could show you in 2-3 minutes and you'd never need to worry 'bout length again, can just focus on getting a pair that sits "perfect" width wise.
In my case, no such luck. All the women in my family are "all legs". So I wear a 36/36 in jeans, and that's cutting it as short as I can wear without looking, well, stupid.

And for you guys that like the girls.
My sister (Just barely under the 6 foot mark, tall blonde who won a Miss Northern Iceland title) is married to a man who's about 5'6. Attraction isn't all about feet and inches. ;)
to be honest I'm not sure how tall I am
I think I am either 5'6 or 5'7 I HOPE, I do with I was taller to pass more, but I think i will be getting taller cause my mom is 5'8 I think, and I have kinda big feet so my parents say that means I will grow more, and maybe T will help
am only 4 "11
I think you shoulda had more of a break up between 5'4 and 5'7
5'4 is very short for a guy and 5'7 is on the short side of average for a guy.
I'm 5'4, but my height does not in any way effect my dysphoria. I like being short.
Im 5'4". it does not affect my dysphoria at all, I knew a guy who was 5'3 and I like being a small little man.
5'8" here guess that puts me in the average group.
I just measured, I'm 5'5
so, :( bummer I thought I was taller, maybe I measured wrong
I'm 5'6", but I'm not done growing yet. I hope to be about the same height as my dad (although it doesn't seem likely); about 5'11".

Your height also varies during the day. In the mornings you're a bit taller because the cartilage in your knees hasn't compressed like it does throughout the day. Your spine does this too. It resets when you rest.
So you may be 1cm or so taller in the mornings, but lose that during the duration of the day.
If you don't already stand tall, that helps to bring you up to your full height. I know I don't completely because of my chest.
I was 4'11.75" until HRT. Over the last year and change, I'm now 5'1.66"-ish -- which I was
not expecting, based on my age, alone.
As for whether or not being very short (especially for a guy) has affected my own dysphoria?
I've also felt a sort of solidarity with short men. Always. My idols as a singer have been Roger Daltrey (5'4"-ish [though he claims 5'5.5", I know this is a crock based on photos of him near doors and certain UK landmarks I know the exact size and dimensions of]), Prince (5'3" -- this has been confirmed by a friend of a friend who's been to his house), Marc Bolan (also 5'3"-ish [though he claimed 5'7" in life -- see Daltrey]). My father was 5'5" most of his adult life, died closer to 5'4"; his own father was allegedly 5'1" -- so I also come from a fair line of short people.
The only times I wish I were taller is when I realise, for a moment, that I'm not using the top shelves in my kitchen cabinetry.

I'm totally the same way. People expect my fiancee to be masculine and dominant only because she's taller than me (by a foot :embarrassed: )...when in reality she's pretty girly and I'm calling all the shots, so to speak.
I'm 5'7". Sometimes it bothers me, especially since I'm around a few tall cis guys quite often, yet a lot of women are shorter than I am (as well as a lot of cis guys.) Also, I get a wierd sense of joy in knowing that I'm about three inches above the average height for women and three inches below the average height for men - it makes me feel as though I'm perfectly in the middle.

Me too, me too.
I remember I was at Micky D's and there was this guy who was shorter than me. But he looked really rugged and manly, and while I'm comfortable with my height, it kind of boosted my ego.
I'm 5'6", and while it bothered me prior to going on T, I don't even think about it anymore. I suppose it used to bug me more when I was married, because my ex-wife was 6'1", but I've seen plenty of guys who are my height or shorter. The only time I really think about it anymore is when I'm around my little brother... he's 7 years younger than me, and 6'5". I got screwed on height. However, my dad is 5'9", my mom 5'7", and my older brother is only 5'7". So perhaps I'm not that bad off, after all.
As for growing once on T, I've never heard of anyone over 22 experiencing that. I started T at 25 and saw everything but my height increase.

I sorta know (from LJ) one guy who started transitioning in his 30s and claims he gained just under an inch in height -- but he's also one of those pagans who will ring bells and start chanting when pagans like myself realise that we're better off going to the doctor, so I take what he says with a grain of salt. (And yes, he has insurance -- at least as per his LJ, he works for his local uni and has it in his own right, and his partner's job offers domestic partner benefits, as well, and that's his secondary. He's just a flake who'd rather... well... ring bells and chant cos the "Western medicine" that made it possible for him to transition is apparently good for nothing else. [eyeroll])
Myself? Twenty-eight, and I've had it confirmed by my doctor that I've gained two inches in this last year. Now, she points out that not all of it may be HRT-induced, as I had chest surgery first and
they were as big as my head (serious), so that's obviouysly relieved some compression -- but at the same time, my feet have gone up a size. Shoes I bought just eighteen months previous don't fit me anymore, so obviously there's been growth there.
Of course, my gloves still fit, as do my hats (well, not counting the wool fisherman's cap that my room-mate accidentally threw in the washing), so I can hardly say that "everything else" has experienced growth.
Eh, it's half and half when it comes to western medicine. The other stuff does work, but it has to have a balance. You have to know what calls for what kind of treatment. A good mix of both, I say.
I remember Dennis saying he thought he grew on T, but apparently he was just standing taller than before. But I can also see how extra weight could add to the compression.
The only way to know for sure is to check if your growth plates have fused.

I am 164cm I think that translates to 5'4 or 5'4.5.
Edit: for some reason the height I posted was edited O_o fixed to 164cm
My height is average for a woman but short for a man. I've always complained about how short I am. Then people would say "you're not short- you're an average size for a woman". If they only knew. Yeah, I'm short. I hate it, but I'm sure not going to get those surgeries done in China. I always feel better when I see a man shorter than me. >:-)

Would if I could.
I hate my height, personally...
I'm 5'8" on a good day... And then the fact that I rarely stand up straight means I'm generally around 5'7"... Which is definitely below average for a guy my age.
Luckily I do hang out with few guys shorter or the same height as me, so I don't feel short... I'd just much prefer being tall like I always used to be considered.
Honestly, sometimes I feel like being like Prince and wearing platform shoes. -.- Or at least shoes with a slight boost. ...There's actually one brand online, Bugarri shoes, that sells shoes with extra height built non-noticeably into them... I've been debating getting a pair... Don't know how well it would work though...
I wouldn't worry too much about your height, i'm genetically male and i'm 5'6" and pretty thin for my age, *22* i'm always the smallest one around, but people never question me about sexuality or gender or anything. Granted its probably different for yall, I dont want to be tall because I don't want to be a 7 foot woman. But if you're around 5 something and feel short, just think that you could always be 3 feet tall :P Personally when ever someone makes fun of me cause i'm small, I just call them heightess lol.
I'm 5'1 :( I get really dysphoric about my hight so I don't like to think about it.
I'm 5'3". It doesn't really bother me that much cos all the men in my family are short too - in fact on the whole I think the women are taller, so it helps me fit into the boys' camp even more :)
I think it's more muscle that I lack and feel I need to make me feel more masculine, rather than height. I tend to go for short muscley guys too, so no worries about my boyf being taller than me. Haha knowing my luck, now I've said that, I'll fall for some 6', twinky model lol! ;)

Not everyone is from the US, though. And the average where I am is the same, on paper, but that was done in 2005, and it's most likely gone up by an inch because women are getting taller these days. Which I believe, because I rarely see a girl who is under 5'5" anymore unless they're a child.

Women think anything that's small is cute! Why do you think retailers of food related items, among other things, have made those tiny cans of soda? Or those tiny bottles of water? Or tiny pieces of candies such as Snickers? Yeah, sure, it's all great for kids, but they knew they'd be getting profits because of more than just kids!

AWESOME! ;D Two more years of growth, possibly! Ah, time is so painfully slow. :-\
I may grow taller, cause I think I'm still in puberty so, thats good and bad, but if my hips grow I'm gonna be pissed cause you cant fix that.
but for now I'm the same height of elijah wood :)
I am by far the shortest of all my brothers and sisters. I'm one of eight with a 16 year old brother that towers over me. My niece is less than a foot shorter than I am and she's 7. I'm done growing and was once taller but due to back problems I'm a bit shorter.

This is true. Most people have a "second growth spurt" of two or three inches between the ages of 18 and 22 -- which is one of the reasons why it's very uncommon for FTM guys who start HRT after 22 to get any taller; after that, it's dependent on when the "growth plates (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Growth_plates)" in ones long bones (legs and arms) have "set". The growth plates typically set shortly after the second growth spurt, but on rare occasion, it may take longer -- then again, on rare occasion, one may not have their "second spurt" until they're twenty-five, and a fair handful of people have had it confirmed that their growth plates have set by the age of sixteen.
Height is a complex trait:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6975865.stm (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6975865.stm)
...many factors influence how tall a person ends up, and while genetics has its part, science seems leaning in the direction that these factors are

I'm 5'4" and would seriously want to be about 6 inches taller, then I'd pass a lot better, be a "fit" (at least a bit taller) for more gals, find more guys' clothes that fit, and *drumroll please* be able to buy a "decomissioned" cop motorcycle and ride it all over.
i love bikes went to mexico on the back of a goldwing with my first bf ever it was such a turn on but alas he was navy and i was army weeks later he went back to san francisco and i went to ft belvoir to investigate chopper pilots.....

That would make sense.
Not everyone is from the US, though. And the average where I am is the same, on paper, but that was done in 2005, and it's most likely gone up by an inch because women are getting taller these days. Which I believe, because I rarely see a girl who is under 5'5" anymore unless they're a child.
My area is full of shorties then... I don't know many girls over 5'6, and the few who are self-dubbed 'freaks of nature'

You still got until you're 20 or so. And everyone is different, it depends on genetics.

biological males....and girls stop growing at like 16 (-1 for the gene pool)
Nice to know though :)

It's funny actually.
Either all the guys I know are wimps, or I'm stronger than I think. Because I've managed to knock a few over without trying.
In my experience, the taller the man is, the more likely he gets attacked by some guy who's had one drinks too many and is out to prove his masculinity (by beating up the tallest man in the room)...

Yeah, my room-mate is 6'4" and bears a striking resemblance to Penn Jillette (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penn_Jillette) (who is actually slightly taller, at least as per his claims), so he's often enough not only the tallest guy in the room, but the one most likely assumed to be an ass. Many are the times he's been challenged by some drunk trying to prove something.
I'll just add that despite the fact I'm only 5'6", for some reason other guys find me intimidating (yes, by their own admission). I'm pretty muscular, though it doesn't necessarily show... I'd say I'm just stocky, though getting close to average. Perhaps it's my demeanor.
Oh, and 5'4" is average for a woman in the U.S. When I was in college in Indiana, we did a survey via one of my psych classes of over 100 girls at our school, and found that the average was 5'5.5". At my school now in Colorado, though, the vast majority of girls are shorter than me, and about 1/10 of the guys I see are my height or shorter. It may be partially the larger proportion of Latino and Asian guys here in CO, but it's still not that big a difference.
SD
I was 5'3" when I was 18, grew to 5'4" a couple of years later and for all I know am 5'4.5" or something now.
I see people of all heights where I am, where I go to make money, Santa Cruz, is an amazing place to people-watch. Lots of hereditarily upper class types who are beanpoles, the women 5'10" and up, the guys 6' and over, all the way down to us working class, some tall but most rather short, lots of cute gals my height and shorter, down to Asians and Hispanics who although there are many tall ones, there are a lot of men among those groups who are about 5' even. I'd still not mess with a lot of 'em! And, I notice a lot of working-class biomales who are my height, it's just not that uncommon for someone of my caste to be my height. Many of my buddies (I'm a magnet for wrench-turning bike-riding types) aren't much taller than I am.
So, I seem to fit right into the continuum, and while I'd like to be taller it's OK, I just deal with it.

I think races do matter to some extent. The ones that are immigrants usually, though.(I've seen a lot of really tall Asian guys in Chinatown before.)
Because when you live in a multicultural country, that does skewer the statistics a bit.
Uhg, now I have to worry about my ethnic make-up? :-\
I'm half and half, Mexican and Puerto Rican. Does this mean I've got a chance of being at my top height as of now? No more "until your 20" growth? :'(

Not sure how you're reading this O_o it looks more like half-half to me which points at average.
Splitting the poll around the 5'4-5'7 part could help a bit.
I do believe the average grew a bit though and is more like 5'5-5'5.5

Well since most are in 5'4"-5'7" group that's a little above.

I really don't mind though; I think I'd be stuck in kid's clothing anyway. At least this way all the pants I get don't look like highwaters.

Don't they have shirts for really short but scrawny guys?! Seems if I want length on the boys I have to wear 2X.
You know, no matter how tall we are, we "fit" our families.
Before I came out I was considered "the tallest female".
Now I'm "the shortest male" out of the whole of the living members of four generations of blood relatives. That means I'm shorter than my granddad. Shorter than my father and his brothers. Shorter than my mother's brothers. Shorter than My brothers. And shorter than my nephews (the grown ones).
Even at 6'2, you can be "the shortest guy in the room", and I frequently am.
'cept here ofcourse...

5'5. I do wish I was taller, but I'd only wanna be 5'7 - 5'8. I like being short, but at 5'5 I'm shorter than a lot of girls too which I don't really like. But it doesn't bother me much.
Chris the Wookie Slayer - go with XS adult men sizes. I've found that they actually work for our height really well. They fit and don't look baggy
5'2" here. :( Luckily those of 'my' country (Chile) are generally rather short, so I fit in around the dudes and the chicks. I actually have a guy friend there who's an inch or two shorter than me and EVERYONE respects him cos he's insanely strong for his size and completely unafraid to throw someone outweighing him by 45 kilos across the yard, lol.
Anyways, my midget-ness does bother me a lot cos my boyfriend is exactly a foot taller than me, and all but one of my guy friends are 6-10" taller than me. The exception is only a few inches taller, but his masculinity makes me feel sooo insecure about my own. I mean, he's got the hugest hands I've ever seen, and awesome facial hair to boot! Grrr... I gotta wait until I can afford T to grow a beard... >:(
5'6'' but wanna be 6'5" ;) ;) ;)
5'4" - about the same height as the guys who were in the Small Faces (I'm obsessed with their old promo videos lately). Rock and roll is a great way to feel good about being a short, femmey-looking guy.
Anyway, a lot of bio guys in general are the same height as me. When I think about it, one advantage of having been raised female is that I was never bullied for being a short guy.

One way to go about it is to go to thrift stores and look in all the sections with an open mind. You never know what you'll find where that might look good and fit you.
I've gotten a lot of my favorite t-shirts from the "Boys" sections of thrift stores. I buy my pants from the women's section of Urban Outfitters because a lot of them are in men's sizes and have a unisex look about them.
And almost anything can be shrunk in hot water and / or re-stitched to fit better (this is one area where my female up-bringing comes in handy).

So Bjork is a throwback to when they were a land of pixies?
I'm 5'8" and I usually dont mind it. The only time it bothers me at all is in some of my classes at school. I go to one on the biggest universities in the US and I'm in a lot of classes with the football and basketball players and they are huge....6'5" to almost 7' so i feel tiny around them. Other than that i dont really mind being 5'8" because in the general population i dont really feel that short. Also, i have played basketball all my life and noticed that most girls i played against that were 5'10"+ usually had more feminine qualities about their figures, wider hips and a larger chest, things like that. So i would rather be 5'8" and not have to worry about that stuff.

I guess so. :icon_confused2:
I'm 5'5... Sometimes seems more like 5'6. My father is 5'10 and my mother would be 5'7 if her spine wasn't so curved. My father was extremely short into his 20s and must have gone through a growth spurt later. Seeing as I'm shorter than both of my parents, who had parents who were taller than me, I think I might just be in for a late growth spurt. I hope my plates haven't closed... Like many guys here, I really do wish I were taller. I want to be at least 5'8 or 5'9. 5'10 would be a dream come true but very much impossible.

I'm 5'4" as well. I actually don't have that hard of a time finding clothes--medium T's and 30/32x30 jeans are just right. Chris, try hitting stores like A&F, H&M, or any sort of 'trendy youth store' for clothes. I've noticed that they tend to carry shirts that are 'slim cut' and not nearly as boxy as shirts found at stores like Wal-Mart. And of course there's always T & weightlifting for gaining some upper body mass--that should help with the shirt thing, too.
I'm considering moving to Europe where they regularly stock XS sizes, and everyone is a little smaller in general. I might fit in then. ;)

Iceland's in Europe, and I'm the tallest bloke here.. ;) Just FYI
I think it just varies from area or country to country. I know tons of places in Europe where people are known for being tall.
Most the brits I know.. cisblokes.. are so short that I tower over them.. one of 'em's more than a foot shorter than me.
Minar, check out the poll results, there's another tall guy on here. Too bad he seems shy.
Well, yes, but the average height for men in many places in Europe (Italy, France, etc) is around 5'7 or so. I'd feel much more confident there. And think about Asia where many people are only around 5 feet. That would be great. ;D

Im 5,4 and it does get on my nerves. All my "bros" are around 5,9 - 6,1 so im extremly self concious. They call me munchkin :-\. My dad was 5,8, not very tall, but i've still got a chance at reaching 5,5-5,6 if I get on T soon... Since im not done with the nightmare/living hell called "puberty" (curse the word) i might just naturally get taller... But then again, being a short man can't be too bad. A homo friend of mine says hes more attracted to short people than tall, so maybe its a good thing...

My dad is 5'11" so I'm hoping maybe I can grow a bit once I get on T. I'm only 18, so there's some hope, right? ::)
Speaking of comparing with your relatives.
You all (or rather, most of you blokes) are "envious" of my height and all that, but at 6'2, I'm shorter than most the blokes in my family still.
My shorter brother is 6'3, the taller is 6'9, and dad's about 6'11. I Still feel short when around them.
And the little nephews I used to babysit are both over 6'5 now!!
And then there's the fact that my sisters are all about my height or even taller than me when they've got their heels on. They range from 5'9 to 6'1 in height, and mum's 6 feet tall herself. And these women like to wear 3-4 inch heels easy!
I don't feel "really tall" around my own relatives at all!
Miniar: I'd gladly swap with one of your sisters!
I'm only 5'4.. All Mum's fault (she's 4'10) :P My brother's 5'6 - and so's one of my housemates, which makes me feel a bit better ;D
5'3 in shoes and seriously thinking about getting some shoe inserts. Mind you my wife is 5'10 so my head is on her chest level which i really shouldn't complain about >:-)
I'm 5'8 but I have my mum to thank for this since shes about 5'10. My dad is 5'5 and he's (obviously) a cis-guy so goes to show that they can be short too.
I'm about 5'6'', which is good enough for me.

How about options for cm's? :D, Sorry, but I don't speak that lingo, by the way I'm 172cm.

You and me both Sarah B. I think I am about 170cms. 5'7? oops, sorry, did not notice it was for the boys....
Technically I'm 5'2.5"/158.75 cm but I always just round up to 5'3" to make it sound a little better lol. I wear Tall Men's Shoes (Toto brand) to add 2.8 inches to my daily height.
I'm definitely insecure about my height. I don't think it interferes with my passing as much as it used to though. Now I just get asked how old I am, perceived as a young boy, instead of getting an automatic ma'am/she.
im about 5'5 but hopefully still growing
my height definielty affects me
im constantly measuring myself in comparison to other ppl and it really bothers me when im standing next to a tall person
most of my friends arnt even that tall but still if i could just get 2 more inches i feel like my world would change
Yes Nicky, I'm not alone in this world.
I picked 5'8" ;D and I also noticed when I was reading through all the posts I noticed it was mainly males, so lets take a hike and go and play in our own thread!!

I'm 5'4'' and it works for me :)
5 foot 5 and yes it bothers me. But nothing short of the rack will fix it so *shrug*
With the right sneakers, and standing up tall I can boast 5'8"; which isn't too shabby around these parts.
The only time I feel self-conscious about my height (and this was a first) was when I drop by my brother's parties and most of the guys are like athletes/marines/etc who are on average about 6'0". The flip-side to that is for some strange reason I pass almost 100% around my brother's friends, even after making small talk for a while; so I don't end up minding being shorter then. ;D
I'm about 5' 6 and 5 6.5 with shoes (or about that..)
Measured myself today and I'm 5'6" (without shoes). Always thought I was 5'7" or 5'8" but that was probably just wishful thinking! :D Sometimes I think an extra inch or two wouldn't go amiss (would be pretty awesome not to have to look up at people all the time), but at least I'm above average height for female-bodied people, so I'll cope. It really depends on who I'm with as to whether I feel short or not...
And don't worry, I didn't vote, I'm just joining in the discussion. :P
5'1... WAY too short if you ask me! Doesn't help that I usually wear converse or flip flops, which give no extra height! ha! Oh well... my whole family is short, so I have no hope!
-Aidan
Whoops...
I guess this is in the ftm? I'll post my height anyway. I'm very close to 5'8- give or take an 1/8th of an inch so I'm rounding off :D
i'm 5'8" almost 5'9"

Well, theoretically you slow the rate of ossification because of the lower E levels. But there's little potential for growth past about 16. So maybe an inch or so if you're real lucky, from what I've read.
