Title: Vaginectomy?
Post by: Tay on November 14, 2009, 04:38:45 PM
Anyone ever considered one?

I'm thinking of having one done in combination with a hysto. I just don't want any of it there... and since starting T everything seems to have gotten very *wet* for much of the time, which I really dislike and actually becomes uncomfortable because I have very sensitive skin.

Anyone else notice an increase in moisture since starting T? Sorry if this offends anyone, it's not intentional at all.

it is not possible to close the hole.
you would get infections and things.

I do get more wet after started on T, but I like it for some reasons.
I would not want one.

Unless you were having a meta having a vaginectomy makes no sense. I mean, at least you have some sex organ. Plus it probably is safer medically to have the hole to prevent infection.

I could be wrong but if you do a vaginectomy how will you pee without a meta, need somewhere for the urethra to run? Or can you take everything out and not close the hole, but that would just be a hysterectomy. Hmm must go look that up.

They can do "tube in a tube" (vein theft) and skin (!) from the labia minora to extend the urethra after Vaginectomy. (for meta or phallo) The vagina can be closed up without affecting the urethral opening.

If at some point I have a decent dick, I'll definitely consider one.

I know what you mean about the lubrication though (Pre-T.) It's rather messy and disgusting.

Yes, I will be getting a vaginectomy.  I cannot stand the thought of having a hole there.  Of all the things to be dysphoric about...

In researching metoidioplasty, it seems that a number of surgeons actually leave the vaginal canal intact.  They therefore must leave a small hole in the scrotum (some don't join the scrotum at all) so that any fluids from said hole can drain.  Apparently there still are fluids even if a hysterectomy has been performed.  Yuk.

There are, however, some surgeons who will remove the hole.  From what I understand, Dr. Miroslav Djordjevic totally removes the vaginal canal and then extends the urethra through the neo-phallus when he does metas; a hysterectomy is required.  Also, there are cases when females (who are happy to remain as such) must have the vaginal canal totally removed--usually due to cancer.  So it is entirely possible to 'close the hole,' as long as a hysterectomy is also performed.  I see no reason why keeping the vaginal canal is necessary to prevent infection.

I agree with Eryk. A vaginectomy involves scraping out the vaginal lining and allowing the raw (non-epithelial) flesh to seal shut. No reason for problems (unless there's an infection pre-healing.)

Please enlighten me to why you guys would think it's necessary to have a vagina to prevent infection.

I just think it sounds disgusting and needlessly painful. But to each his own, I suppose.

You can definitely close it up without having infections (unless an infection occurs during healing)... having everything removed to me just seems like the best option. I don't want it there, I definitely don't see it as a "sex organ" (sex is purely my little guy) and the wetness is just a nuisance I'd love to be rid of.

The only thing that makes me hesitant is the blood loss and the idea that maybe in some future bottom surgery which is successful, the lining may be used in some way because of its ability to become engorged with blood. I'd hate to scupper my chances of a decent dick in the future because I hate my vagina!
