I'm referring to sex changes, why do people have such a problem with it? On another forums, it was refered as a 'Bigie', something that should be considered seriously. But what about the severe depression and GID that pre-ops get. shouldn't that be a 'biggie' aswell?
It sure should! It just about killed me before I escaped.
MANY people have a problem with it because it reflects insecurities within them selves. It destroys the "nice neat orderly world". My god, if a person can have one gender but the opposite sexed body, nothing can be taken for granted! ;)

I wasn't aware that many people had a problem with gender changes? I think sometimes (in some cases) people find it hard to take seriously if the person who is presenting having had a gender change still looks remarkably male. But it's not their fault if the technology is not there to erradicate their physical male attributes. Physically passable and attractive TS's come under less problems because the public still view them as female.
I've found that generally women don't regard male-to-female transition as any kind of threat.
Some men seem to view it as airing the possibility that they themselves could have their genitals chopped off.

Well, man or woman, something's obviously wrong there.
EDIT: I read it 2 bottles out of a six pack. 12 bottles? Well, that's a lot more then I think most people can stomach.
What we want when we transition is different and it doesn't fit into some peoples' world view. Also we are living our dream when theirs may be suppressed or destroyed. I just ignore them

I've heard that some men are so nieve they think castration turns them into a woman. It's strange they don't know the complicated processes that impliment a gender change!
Exactly about the castration anxiety. I get the impression that many men are empowered by that male dominating ideology. They don't know why on earth we want to lose that one thing that they love to play with. lol. I come from a Native American culture and have spent a long amount of time in the Latino culture also. I find that the guys around me accept me for me. There are jerks granted but for the most part my boys have been accepting and treat me well :)
I always thought that guys had a harder time with MTFs because we aren't being true to the team, but all the men I know have been accepting except one or two. For them I think the problem has been that their worldview includes only two immutable genders.
Often, people don't like their worldviews brought into question. If your view of the world is fairly simple, you don't like complications that imply the world is really more complex.
I don't talk with my male friends about getting my male parts reconfigured, partly because I think it will make them uncomfortable and partly because a lady doesn't discuss such things with gentlemen. :)
