It means you have this huge craving for potatoe cakes and you would do anything to get your hands on some. :D OR, it could be just a dream :D

It means that you forgot the corned beef hash.
It means the end is near. December 2012 we all know who to eat first. Hold onto that foot, the white meat is the best part.
Pickled Long Pork? Of coarse.
The O'brian potatoes or the pickled pigs feet?
Maybe it just means you're hungry. But if you're gonna cut off something, make it valuable so that you can have steak with the potatoes. ;)

in all seriousness, it would imply that you both,
worry about not having/getting/being able to get what you "need" (possibly because of what you can/can't afford)
and also that you're willing to sacrifice things that you have to get what you feel you need, but you worry sometimes that you're harming yourself through that sacrifice.
In all seriousness, the spirit of that sentiment, has been
beating me about the head and shoulders for a long time.
