Title: What temperatures are bad to store spiro and estro?
Post by: deviousxen on November 21, 2009, 12:23:40 PM
I know someone who needs to know where exactly her Spiro and Estradiol can be stored.

Does cold degrade either of these medications? What temperatures are bad?

Sorry, I couldn't resist this one...

Spironolactone should be stored at a temperature of 1000 Celsius.
That is the prevailing temperature in Hell.

Ok, this is just my opinion, but I'm not fond of off-label use of a hypertension medicine.

room temp (20 degrees C) away from sunlight and humidity is what I see alot for meds, refrigeration is only used for injectables to reduce microbial growth, and high temps (above 25 degrees C, or 77 degrees F) are obviously bad

But is refrigerating spiro or estro (Either or) bad?

Its the cold we're worried about here, not the hot.

And thats true Renate.

From what I know, consistent low temps (not in a plane or ups/fedex truck for a couple hours) damages the structure of the pill (just from what I remember, I'll have to google it some time)

There are no anti-androgens that are not off label for this specific use, & aside from that, what can you against Spiro?

Let's compare the two.

Indications for spironolactone:

Indications for cyproterone acetate:
Quote from: http://www.medsafe.govt.nz/Profs/datasheet/s/Siteronetab.htm* Antiandrogen treatment in inoperable carcinoma of the prostate
