Just a question here... I am a male TG and I want to color my hair to a nice shade of dark brown... Right now I use grecian formula when I have colored my hair in the past, but I was wondering can I use hair colors that women use as well? Would there be any problem with it? Men's colors to me appear a bit flat and general, womens colors seem to be more plentiful in all ranges... any ideas?
I know this probably seem like a rookie question, however I have no one else to ask these questions of...
Thanks in advance

genetics don't affect hair dye. use dye labeled for men or women if you so choose.
I use the cheapest hair color ( Black ) that I can find. And yes it is for women. What would a woman use? ??? ::)
Janet
???
I've been dying my hair for a few years (i'm a natural blond... ::) not happy about that)
Hair dye is hair dye. Hair is hair. I've never met a guy with "flat", as you put it, hair who didn't have pitch black hair.
I'm not sure where you've been getting info.
if you can, see about getting it done professionally. I get mine done every six weeks or so, caramel/honey tones with blonde highlights, and it really looks way better than I could ever do myself. I'd prolly end up with green hair or something lol
Most of my hair has either darkened or gone gray :P
I use a champagne blond to cover the gray. It's the closest I could get to my original color :)
Go for it, Jeri, choose the sexiest girly dye you can and use it. It generally smells and stings a bit, though. I did it for years in my 40's and 50's when I had enough hair to bother.
As has been advised, it's far better to spend the money and let the pros do a proper job. You'll be delighted.
