I agree.

Lost my job, which gave me time for me.
Got my Orchie, which made me feel better about a lot of things.
I was granted the federal "F" and my D/L now matches the SSA.
I have Heather in my life, which makes it less lonely.
And I have come to terms about what I am to do with the rest of my life.

I'm going to see my paternal grandparents this Thanksgiving, and will be coming out to them...
So if they are accepting I will be thankful for that.
And, if they're not I will be thankful that I at least have my nuclear family who accepts me.

A very supportive partner, the fact I went from 0 -100 in my transition all in 8 months. All of my friends, of whom I have lost 0 since transitioning. Mostly that I can finally be myself.

Oh man, too many to count.  To name one though, the psychological stabilization of my little sister - it has always been a stress for her and the family, but I (we) are so happy she is making such positive strides now.  I'm glad to have her live with my wife and I currently while she gets back on her feet financially.  I wish my mother could have seen it, but her death this year was a catalyst for a lot of the changes that are happening.

There's no thanksgiving in Iceland (Nov 24th is just my mum's birthday), but I'll play anyway...

I am thankful for the people I got, and their acceptance.
I am thankful for finally getting my t, which I'll be picking up next week.
I am thankful for my mental health and prowess, what little of it I have.

And I'm thankful for the friends I've made this year.

Mine was last month, but anyway:

-To be alive.
-To be gifted with passion to work with arts.
-To finally be able to find a doctor who will help me transition.
-My family, even if they drive me bonkers sometimes.
-My computer.
-My Friends.
-My eyes.
-My ears.
-My looks that make me uniquely me.
-The ability to talk.
-Heck, let's just say the ability to function even if some body parts could use some care to.

I believe that we should have gratitude for what we have and for what others do for us each and every day.

We don't have Thanksgiving in my native country, but since I'm studying in the US, this year I'll celebrate it with friends.

Quotethanksgiving: what will you be thankful for?

For great food, loving family, a roof above our heads and a floor beneath our feet, that people can still get together with loved ones & friends regardless of distance or expense.

Tomorrow (Thanksgiving), I will be thankful for FINALLY seeing a light at the end of my transsexual tunnel.  I was literally dying from deep, DEEP depression, but now that I KNOW that I will soooooon FINALLY be my true self I am coming alive, again. . . .

Deep Breaths,
Rachel

I'll be thankful for the fact its only one day, so that's all the work I'll miss.

I'm also thankful for The Insane Clown Posse putting 400 gallons of Faygo diet root beer on our stage, which warped it, so three easy days work supervising the people replacing it this week.

There's no Thanksgiving here at home, but I'm thankful for everything! Being able to smile, laugh, talk, cry, walk, see, having my body working the way that it should, my life, and the lives of my family and friends. There is so much to be thankful for. I can't just put one thing. We should all give thanks everyday not just on one day of the year.

I have food, clothes, shelter, heat, electricity and I'm alive. I'll start there since I have  been without them at sometime in the last 18 months. I have a job, some don't. I'll even add in that I'm still alive and progressing to sanity.

(If I knew that hormones felt like this, I'd have pursued them much sooner.)

I am thankful for being allowed to be me.  And for being able to have my first thanks giving as the cook.

I'm thankful we don't celebrate it in my country. But I'm curious what a deep fired turkey might taste like - one of these days I'm going to make one red neck style. Maybe I'll practise on a chicken first....

I liked Obamas pardoning of the turkey though "he has escaped a terrible but delicious fate" (something like that anyway).

Today - in a very few minutes in fact - I'm going to be very thankful that the temp here is a nice 51 degrees and the hot tub is a proper 85 degrees and the pool is a pleasant 70 degrees.  And since everyone else is doing that family deal, I'll have it all to myself.

I'm grateful for new friends, new body parts and a new life. It's been one heck of a year that's for sure.
